Job Description:

We are looking for someone with a passion for food and strong time management abilities who can provide our clients with an exceptional dining experience. Our restaurant is busy, and we need a competent and experienced line cook who can ensure that our meals are made precisely to guest orders while still following our standard recipes consistently. To work a variety of stations on any given shift, our line cook must be adept in poaching, braising, roasting, grilling, saut--ing, and frying. You need to be a team player who can effectively communicate with other kitchen staff to keep things running efficiently. Responsibilities:

--- Set up cooking stations and fill them with all of the essential preparation items for a shift
--- Maintain work stations, including all countertops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition per health and safety regulations
--- Demonstrate professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associates
--- Guarantee that quality food is supplied, by adhering to specified storage and waste control requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products
--- Prepare food orders on the line by cooking items to order, grilling, broiling, sauteing and meet all presentation guidelines and follow standard recipes
--- Portion and preparation of food items, including fish, beef, chicken, pork, etc., as prescribed by company specifications
--- Preparation of sauces and/or garnishes as required by company specifications related to the specific menu item
--- Performs related work as assigned and as circumstance requires
--- Be able to interact with vendors and customers when needed
--- Set up food stations and prepare the needed items for service
--- Keep all workstations, counters, equipment, and other kitchen areas clean and sanitary according to health and safety guidelines
--- Guarantee that food quality is adhered to, properly stored food and items, while meeting waste control requirements
--- Follow established recipes and prepare foods to presentation standards

Qualifications:

--- Possesses a strong work ethic and have high attention to detail
--- Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
--- Candidates need a strong understanding of compliance with kitchen safety and food storage requirements
--- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
--- Previous experience working in food service is preferred
Required Skills/Abilities:
--- Possess strong work ethic
--- Ability to produce an excellent culinary and restaurant experience for patrons
--- Excellent time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills
--- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure

Education and Experience:
--- Experience in food preparation work preferred
--- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is preferred
--- Must meet the minimum age requirement as prescribed by law
--- Possess or willing to obtain a valid Food Handler Certificate

Physical Requirements:
--- Prolonged periods of standing and preparing and cooking food
--- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
--- Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold
