RN Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) St. David's Medical Center is part of St. David's HealthCare, one of the largest health systems in Texas, which was recognized in 2014 with a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for enrolling subjects and assuring protocol compliance for clinical trials operated by Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute. The CRC collaborates with physicians in determining eligibility of patients for clinical trials, provides education for staff and patients, and ensures research quality by maintaining compliance with study SOPs, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Excellent oral and written communications required. The ability to work well in a team is a must. The successful candidate will be well organized and a self-starter. MS Office software skills, including familiarity with Access database are preferred. Previous clinical research experience is essential; CRC and GCP certification is a benefit. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee clinical research studies Screen potential patients for protocol eligibility. Presents trial concepts and details to the patients and enrolls patients on protocol. Obtain informed consent and ensure that all questions have been answered satisfactorily and documented into the patient record systems Coordinates patient care in compliance with protocol requirements. In collaboration with the physician, ensure adverse events, concomitant medication use, and protocol compliance are documented according to protocol guidelines. Responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation, and entry into case report form. Schedule and participates in monitoring and auditing activities. Maintain regulatory documents in accordance with TCAI SOP and applicable regulations. Coordinate research projects and manage the timing of several concurrent projects using project management skills Participate in required training and education programs. Responsible for education of clinic staff regarding clinical research. Additional responsibilities may include working with other research bases and/or sponsors under the guidance of the Research Director. Identify quality and performance improvement opportunities and collaborates with staff in the development of action plans to improve quality. Prepare reports on study progress, patient accrual, and research related financial information. Communicates with physician regarding study requirements, need for dose modification, and adverse event reporting.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Experience Required: Minimum 2 years' experience in medical research; screening and recruiting study patients; collection and maintenance of study records and reports; working as a team player. Minimum 2 years recent experience in Cardiac Electrophysiology. Ability to develop and maintain rapport with professionals and study participants. Preferred: Knowledge and understanding of case report forms/assessments, research methods and study protocol; Excellent oral communication skills. Computer skill in Excel and Word. EDUCATION Required: Registered Nurse, BSN. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION Required: Current Texas Registered Nurse License Preferred: Clinical Research Certification, Certification in GCP (good clinical practice)
