paradise The Community - Temple and Killeen, TX Temple and Killeen
are located in Central Texas. The area continues to see
unprecedented growth in its business sector. This growth has caused
a ripple effect in the quantity and quality of entertainment,
dining and shopping venues available in and around Temple. During
the past year, Temple has experienced this ripple effect in many
areas. The Premiere Cinema 12 expanded its 12-screen theater to 16
screens, the Czech Heritage Museum relocated from inside the SPJST
insurance Co. into it's current building, a larger building on the
corner of French and 3rd Street; and the Temple Civic Theatre
combined efforts with Temple College so that performances could be
seen in the larger Temple College Performing Arts Center. These are
just a few examples of the recent growth that is sure to continue.
Killeen is directly adjacent to the main cantonment of Fort Hood,
and as such its economy heavily depends on the post and the
soldiers (and their families) stationed there. Client
Temple/Killeen Fort Hood Fort Hood is a U.S. military post located
in Killeen, Texas. The post is named after Confederate General John
Bell Hood. It is located halfway between Austin and Waco, about 60
miles (100 km) from each, within the U.S. state of Texas. Its
origin was the need for wide-open space to test and train with
World War II tank destroyers. The War Department announced the
location in January 1942, and the initial completion was set for
that August. As originally constructed, Fort Hood had an area of
158,706 acres (64,226 ha), with billeting for 6,007 officers and
82,610 enlisted personnel. The main cantonment of Fort Hood had a
total population of 53,416 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. Fort Hood is
the most populous U.S. military installation in the world. 1 It is
in Bell County, with some portions of the post in Coryell County.
In April 2014, the website lists 45,414 assigned soldiers and 8,900
civilian employees with Fort Hood covering 214,000 acres. Darnall
Army Medical Center The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, it's
variety of clinics and three community based medical homes support
more than 42,000 active-duty personnel and more than 145,000 family
members and retirees within a 40-mile radius. On an average day,
the staff at Darnall deliver eight new babies, handle 4,258
outpatient visits, 19 surgeries, 28 admissions, 226 Emergency Room
visits and fill 4,160 prescriptions. Position Overview: SUMMARY The
neurologist will be responsible for a wide range of medical duties
covering adult neurology with emphasis on neurophysiologic testing
and interpretation and evaluation of patients with neuromuscular
disorders. Examines patients, orders and evaluates the full range
of neurophysiology, radiology and laboratory tests, makes diagnosis
and prescribes appropriate treatment to include drugs,
plasmapheresis, nursing and dietary care, and ancillary therapies.
The neurologist might also evaluate and treat patients with
multiple complicated problems who were screened and referred by the
Emergency Room for urgent or emergent neurologic issues. The
neurologist shall meet or exceed reasonable standards of
professional practice for the health care concerned as determined
by the authority that governs military medical professionals in the
same disciplines. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY Assist
patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate
referrals to other health care providers Provide consultation and
medical supervision to other health care providers (nurse
practitioners, physician's assistants, medical students, interns,
residents, and fellows). Serves as an occasional consultation
service for patients admitted to the hospital. Provides chart
review for quality assurance purposes in the area of neurology if
requested on an occasional basis. May implement clinical or
laboratory research, or deliver medical supervision to house staff
performing research. Confirm that drugs are stored properly and
that adequate records are maintained, to include records of
controlled substances classified as such by the Controlled
Substance Act (Title II of the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention
and Control Act of 1970), and/or those designated by the MEDCEN
commander as locally controlled drugs. Store, secure, and dispense
or dispose of drugs in accordance with standards and state
requirements. Formulate all records and reports as may be required
in support of services rendered Achieves other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION Minimum Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or
Osteopathy (D.O.) who has completed an internship and residency in
an accredited Neurology Training Program and is board certified or
board eligible in Neurology. Licensed as a Neurologist with a
current valid, full and unrestricted license in one of the 50
states in the United States, and the District of Columbia, the
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of two years' experience having been
continuously employed in the practice of Neurology or in training
for the two years prior Certifications: BLS - Basic Cardiac Life
