Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. Provide expert perioperative
nursing support in a pediatric surgical setting, ensuring smooth
and safe operations tailored to the unique needs of young patients.
This contract opportunity is based in Round Rock, TX, offering a
specialized role in a high-standard surgical environment.
Responsibilities: Prepare and assist in the operating room setup
based on patient age and surgical procedure specifics, integrating
knowledge of surgical pathology, allergy risks including latex
sensitivity, and required equipment such as implants and
prostheses. Anticipate surgeons needs by managing supplies
efficiently, consulting preference cards, and collaborating closely
with the circulating nurse to ensure availability of necessary
instruments. Maintain strict adherence to policies by accurately
counting sponges, needles, and instruments throughout all
procedures. Assist in specimen care and appropriate labeling to
support accurate diagnostics. Demonstrate proficiency with
sterilization technologies including steam, EO, and low-temperature
sterilization systems; operate washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic
cleaners, and conduct biological and chemical indicator testing.
Participate in ongoing professional development through in-services
and continuing education focused on perioperative nursing skills.
Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years experience in perioperative or
operating room nursing. Strong knowledge of surgical protocols and
pediatric patient handling. Ability to work collaboratively in
fast-paced, team-oriented environments. Valid nursing licensure and
compliance with all local regulatory requirements. Schedule: Monday
to Friday, with two shift options: 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM and 2:30 PM
