Job Description:

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapy Extern PRN to join our dynamic team. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced respiratory therapists and gain hands-on experience in patient care. The extern will assist in treatment, management, control, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system under supervision. Assist in performing respiratory care procedures under supervision. Observe and document patient responses to respiratory therapy. Maintain and clean respiratory therapy equipment. Support respiratory therapists in the setup and operation of devices such as ventilators, oxygen suppliers, etc. Participate in team meetings to discuss patient treatments and progress. Knowledge of respiratory care procedures and protocols. Ability to operate and maintain respiratory equipment. Strong observational and documentation skills. Effective communication skills both verbal and written. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Eligible for or have passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Exam is preferred.
