ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Austin, Texas. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (1900-0700) • 13-week contract assignment • No call requirements • Work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule • Required certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS • Previous PICU experience required with ventilators and drips • NICU experience preferred • 1-2 years PICU experience preferred • Patient ratios: 2 ICU patients to 1 RN, 1 ICU/2 IMC to 1 RN, or 1 ICU and 2 medical-surgical to 1 RN • Work with equipment including Alaris IV pumps and ventilators • Use Meditech EMR system • Care for patients with respiratory illnesses using HFNC, EMU seizure monitoring, and various PICU diagnoses • Must be a team player with positive attitude and openness to feedback • Navy scrubs required, no artificial nails allowed • Work in smaller unit with great teamwork and camaraderie between all staff Facility: This healthcare facility features a 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit located on the first floor of a dedicated children's hospital. The unit maintains an exceptional safety record, being CLABSI/CAUTI free since 2014. The facility provides specialized pediatric critical care services with a focus on respiratory illnesses and seizure monitoring, while maintaining level 4 trauma capabilities. The unit is known for its smaller size fostering excellent teamwork and collaboration among nursing staff, respiratory therapists, ancillary support, and physicians.
