How you’ll make an impact in this role - Lead the surgical "Time Out" and perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, ensuring correct site marking and patient positioning for complex spine (prone/lateral) and orthopedic (traction/beach chair) procedures to prevent nerve injury and pressure-related complications. - Coordinate all room activities during high-volume total joint replacements and spinal fusions, including the management of specialized equipment like C-arm fluoroscopy, surgical navigation systems (e.g., Mako or O-arm), and cell-saver technologies. - Maintain a rigorous sterile environment, meticulously tracking specialized orthopedic hardware, prosthetics, and biologics; ensure accurate documentation of all implants and "doctor-preference" disposables to meet strict regulatory and billing standards. - Facilitate rapid, safe room turnovers in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) environment, collaborating closely with surgical techs, anesthesiologists, and sterile processing to ensure all specialty instrumentation and "heavy-duty" trays are staged and ready for the next case. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: - Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. - One or more of the following required: - Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: - Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
