Roles & Responsibilities Assess critically ill patients and implement individualized care plans in the MSICU Manage advanced life support interventions including ventilator management and intubation support Perform and oversee procedures such as chest tube management, tracheostomy care, central and arterial line management Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately using Meditech Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during high-acuity episodes Maintain timely and accurate charting while adhering to unit guidelines and attendance policies Qualifications Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted) ACLS certification required BLS required NIH Stroke Certification required Minimum 2-3 years of ICU (Critical Care) nursing experience, MSICU or MICU preferred Experience with Meditech charting and order entry preferred Ability to float per facility policy and follow unit-specific guidelines (badging, lunch, punctuality) Knowledge & Skills Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making in high-acuity settings Proficiency with ventilators, intubation assistance, and tracheostomy care Skill in managing central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, NG tubes, and Foley care Comfort supporting GI scopes/endoscopy procedures and related patient prep/recovery Accurate, timely documentation using Meditech Excellent time management, teamwork, and communication skills Benefits Generous housing stipend and comfortable travel housing options to make your assignment feel like a mini-adventure Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to keep you and your family healthy Licensure assistance and reimbursement so you can focus on patients, not paperwork Paid time off to recharge between assignments and avoid burnout Travel reimbursement and support for travel logistics to get you on site smoothly A supportive team culture that values your clinical judgment and growth Opportunities for specialty skills development and continuing education Referral bonus program and recognition for top performers Travel Perks: Explore San Antonio, TX San Antonio is an energetic and historic travel destination.
