Job Description:

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. This position operates within our network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and is crucial for providing supportive care under the guidance of our Physical Therapists. As a vital member of the rehabilitation team, you will assist patients who are recovering from injuries, illnesses, or surgery, focusing on mobility improvement, pain reduction, and overall functional enhancement. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with patients, providing them with exercises and treatments to improve their quality of life. Work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans designed to help patients regain or enhance their physical capabilities. Monitor patient progress and report their responses to treatments to the supervising therapist. Assist patients with exercises and other therapeutic interventions as instructed by a physical therapist, ensuring patient safety and effectiveness of treatment. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and ongoing home exercises. Maintain accurate records of patient therapy sessions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to follow detailed instructions and comply with physical therapy protocols Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and exercises Capable of physical stamina for working on one's feet for most of an average work day Excellent observational skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Current Physical Therapist Assistant license, or eligible for licensing, in the state of employment CPR certified
