Cardiovascular Technologist Location: Temple, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,426 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer 1 Profession: Cardiac Sonographer Specialty: Cardiac Sonographer Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8hrs AM Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 3-5 years at a level 1 facility License: RDCS or RCS Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic principles, instrumentation, and techniques. - Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology. - Ability to explain the purpose of the echocardiographic examination to the patient and answer questions. - Knowledge of approved clinical protocols for cardiovascular ultrasound examinations. - Knowledge of proper infection control procedures. - Knowledge of relevant laws regarding patient confidentiality and privacy. - Ability to interact and communicate effectively with healthcare providers. - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Skilled utilization of computers and medical equipment. Description: The Cardiac Sonographer 1 performs basic to intermediate cardiac ultrasound services and procedures for adult patients. These include transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress studies used to diagnose and assess cardiac abnormalities. General duties include preparing equipment, prepping patients, and explaining procedures. The sonographer reviews images and reports findings, analyzing patient clinical history to identify the examination's purpose. They may extend the examination scope appropriately to answer clinical questions. The sonographer may assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms by performing echocardiograph studies. They help to decrease risk factors during complex procedures. They prepare patients for procedures and obtain clinical history, including cardiac-related physical findings. The sonographer records statistics and performs daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment. They report all malfunctions as appropriate. They act as a resource to other staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, and procedures. Close collaboration with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator ensures adherence to quality processes and protocols. The sonographer implements protocols as new technology evolves, ensuring system echocardiography standards are followed.
