2025----Location:AUSTIN, TX----Job Details:General NotesThe Senior
Research Program Coordinator position is a 14-month position with
the possibility of extension, dependent on performance and funding
with a Feb. 1, 2024 start date. The position will include training
research assistants to conduct in-depth interviews and support data
analysis. The Senior Research Program Coordinator will be
responsible for leading data analysis efforts, contributing to
and/or leading the development of scientific manuscripts and
academic presentations, ensuring compliance with study and IRB
protocols, and supporting grant writing activities. PurposeThe
Department of Population Health is looking for a Senior Research
Program Coordinator to manage and support an HIV prevention
research project focused on preferences and barriers related to the
uptake of longer-acting pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV prevention
in sexual minority men. The position will involve identifying and
establishing relationships with primary care and family medicine
clinics in collaboration with the project team leadership and
collecting qualitative data through (virtual) in-depth interviews
with sexual minority men and primary care providers in Austin and
Dallas, Texas.Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment and data collection related to HIV prevention
studies.
- Lead qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis efforts
associated with HIV prevention research.
- Training and supervising research assistants to conduct
interviews and support data analysis.
- Develop and maintain Institutional Research Board (IRB)
materials an ensure compliance to the protocol.
- Develop of presentations for research and meeting purposes, as
well as create research products such as reports and manuscripts
for publication and future grant proposals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners
supporting the study.
- Other related duties as assigned.Required
QualificationsBachelor's degree in sociology, anthropology,
psychology, public health, health education, community health,
education, educational psychology, or related field, plus 5 years
of program administration or program coordination.Experience and a
high level or proficiency with qualitative data collection and
analysis.Experience with project management and implementation of
study protocols.Working knowledge of qualitative data analysis
software.Past experience supervising others.Excellent communication
skills.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as
appropriate.Preferred QualificationsMore than the required
experience.Master's degree in sociology, anthropology, psychology,
public health, health education, community health, education,
educational psychology or related field, plus 3 years of relevant
experience; or Ph.D. in sociology, anthropology, psychology, public
health, health education, community health, education, educational
psychology or related field.Experience with HIV research.Experience
conducting research in primary care or family medicine settings or
experience with community-based research in general.Publications
focused on HIV prevention using qualitative methods. First author
preferred.Past experience supervising research assistants. Working
knowledge or experience using REDCap.Salary Range$55,000 +
depending on qualificationsWorking Conditions
