contract Shift Times: 7-3, 3-11, or 11-7 shift. Must work every

- Health Advocacy Program Facility Physical Environment: Long
term care facility with around 200 patients
- Essential Duties: The LVN I works under the direct supervision
of a Registered Nurse to provide for the care, treatment, and
general welfare of patients. Responsibilities include: medication
transcription and administration, performance of focused nursing
assessment for the basic care, treatment, and general welfare of
patients, documentation of basic information concerning patient,
observing and reporting significant observations related to
patient's mental/physical condition, maintaining accountability for
medications, assigned medication room, and the security of assigned
unit keys, providing basic patient/family education, implementing a
basic nursing care plan, supporting hospital safety, risk
management, and infection control programs, and restraint and
seclusion reduction strategies, maintaining competency, management
of the unit in the absence of the RN, and attending work as
- Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a
specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule,
extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave
policy and performs other duties as assigned.
- Administers medications and treatments orally, rectally,
internally, or by injection.
- Demonstrates competency in performing complex technical nursing
tasks and procedures in accordance with state regulations.
- Performs complex and technical nursing procedures according to
facility and state regulations such as tracheostomy care,
gastrostomy/jejunostomy care, wound care, breathing
- Collects specimens for laboratory examination and conducts
appropriate screening tests when requested by lab personnel.
- Monitors individuals' weight, diet, feedings, and vital signs.

- Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes and provides input to
other members of the healthcare team. Instructs direct support
professionals on how to monitor individuals after a treatment or
procedure using instruction sheets such as that used for
post-sedation monitoring of signs and symptoms. Qualifications:
Licensed LVN/LPN able to practice in Texas. -One year preferably
two years of experience as a direct care nurse. - Experience in
psych, hospital acute care, or LTC. - Competent in skills such as
gastrostomy tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters,
