We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary for the Lead Sonographer According to unit and hospital policies and procedures, the Cardiology Lead Sonographer is responsible for the performance of non-invasive cardiovascular procedures including but not limited to adult/pediatric echocardiography and vascular procedures. This position works closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies while also promoting optimal unit operations and acting as a preceptor. The Lead Sonographer adheres to the customer service standards while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment Responsibilities of the Lead Sonographer Lead and oversee the Technologists and clinical staff to ensure the quality of their work.Coordinate and prioritize the department workflow to ensure completion of work assignments.Perform day-to-day departmental functions and responsibilities.Contribute to the effective management of the department.Consistently produce films of optimal diagnostic quality on patients of all ages.Administer contrast media in accordance with the contrast policies & procedures. Follow Patient Care and Safety Policies and Procedures. Provide full support by performing job-related duties. Qualifications for the Lead Sonographer EDUCATION: Associate's degree with completion of an accredited cardiac sonography program. EXPERIENCE: One year minimum experience as a Sonographer or equivalent work experienceDemonstrated proficiency in performing all aspects of adult/pediatric echocardiography and vascular proceduresDemonstrated ability to precept new employees and employees not meeting expectations LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer OR Registered Vascular Technologist by the AmericanBLS (CPR) certification per St. David's Healthcare policyThis role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).St. David's South Austin Medical Center, which is part of St. David's HealthCare.
