Job Description:
We are searching for a Senior Occupational Health Nurse -
someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position,
you will provide quality and comprehensive care to employees for
occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses which
includes assessment, intervention, evaluation of care. In addition,
this role provides health maintenance, promotion, and
rehabilitation to ensure that employees are able to successfully
perform their job requirements.

- Performs health assessment independently using advanced nursing
assessment skills
- Provides acute injury and illness treatment for
non-occupational events
- Provides assessments, treatment, and rehabilitation follow-up
of occupational injury or illness
- Provides an employee immunization program
- Determines and administers appropriate injections to employees
as needed based on their health history serologies and employee
department documentation
- Conducts health programs upon departmental or individual
requests such as smoking cessation classes, blood pressure
monitoring, and Employee Health Fair
- Maintains confidential documents of Employee Health and
Volunteer records
- Evaluates effectiveness and scope of Employee Health
services
- Conducts medical surveillance
- Acts as a liaison with outside treating agencies and provides
appropriate care and documentation
- Will also be part of our ride out team for natural disasters
(i.e. Hurricanes, etc.)QualificationsBeing fully vaccinated against
COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the Covid-19 vaccine
recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is
required for all employees at Texas Children's, unless approved for
a medical or religious exemption.
- Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or technical diploma in
nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and
signed agreement required, or must be currently enrolled in a
nursing bridge program working toward an MSN
- Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of
Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
required
- Strong ability to work independently, stay focused and strong
organization skills

will be a 52 bed, 365,000 square foot hospital for children and
