Job Summary
The Government Affairs Manager is responsible for state legislative
and regulatory affairs and all engagement with local government
officials on business matters at Atlas in multiple states. In
coordination with Compliance and Risk Management, this position
must develop and execute political, legislative, and regulatory
strategies and initiatives that support and enhance the company's
business objectives, including strategic community affairs
initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities---
Design, foster, and support the implementation of regulatory and
legislative initiatives and organized market activities that
advance new markets for data center development and operations
Manage all state-level legislative advocacy and regulatory advocacy
and compliance. This includes strategic planning and direct
day-to-day engagement in all aspects of legislative and regulatory
proceedings and the coordination, both direct and indirect (through
industry allies and business associations), of company involvement
to minimize operational impact and costs.
Assist in the establishment of corporate strategies, policies, and
plans, which align with government laws, regulations, and
standards
Perform analysis of proposed legislative actions, determine the
potential impact on the organization, and develop appropriate
responses
Work closely with internal business units to assess, prioritize,
and respond to policy developments
Develop and maintain routine internal communications on key policy
initiatives affecting the organization
Other responsibilities as required
Professional Requirement---
BA/BS, with a focus on policy, economics, energy, or construction
preferred
5+ years' experience working on construction and
legislative-related issues at trade association(s), congressional
office(s), or in industry
Experience working with trade associations, building trust and
relationships to support shared goals
Evidence of strong strategic thinking, communication, planning,
organization, and execution
Flexibility and creativity in problem-solving, particularly in
negotiations with government officials and agencies.
The ability to read and interpret construction plans,
specifications, and related codes and regulations
Ability to plan, organize and manage work with minimal supervision
and complete assigned duties accurately and within timelines
Physically capable of performing required duties and ability to
work in all weather conditions
Passionate, good teamwork spirit, strong ability to work under
pressure; good communication skills, organization and coordination
ability
Excellent team player, problem solver
