In FY2018, Ascension provided nearly $2 billion in care of persons living in poverty and other community benefit programs.--What You Will Do As an Associate with Seton Family of Hospitals-TX, you will have the opportunity to develop--and execute--the strategic direction of Ministry Market long-term strategic plans, integrated strategic, operational and financial plans, service line growth strategies, capital plans and value-based care strategy.1. Strategic Implementation Structure & Strategy Leads execution of strategic priorities and academic programs by providing project leadership and managing stakeholder involvement, schedule, critical success factors, risks and dependencies, and team members. Prioritizes all initiatives to support overall strategic agenda and goals for the organization. In partnership with Finance, tracks the deployment of approved capital for infrastructure and clinical program investments over $5M and other select priorities under $5M to achieve market goals and addresses identified barriers to capital spending. Leads cross-departmental process coordination, workflow and relationship development efforts with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Executives, Strategy, Medxcel, Finance, Real Estate, The Resource Group, Ascension Technologies, Legal, Marketing/Communications, Ascension Medical Group, Hospital Operations, Physician Relations/Business Development, Contracting, Foundations, and external parties such as medical equipment planners, aligned physicians, Dell Medical School, architects and developers Partners with internal stakeholders to formulate, define and implement improvements to business processes and operations to solve problems and enhance productivity and effectiveness. Partners with leaders in each area to ensure new processes are developed and implemented. Maintains and communicates project status and performance via executive dashboards to the Ministry Market Executive, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, regional Presidents, Ascension leaders as appropriate, and other stakeholders, and drives root cause analysis and remediation activity when needed. Works with Strategy, Ascension Medical Group, Hospital Operators and Real Estate on conceptualization of strategies and the identification and development of new markets/opportunities to meet future growth goals for the organization. Represents Ascension Seton with community partners and at events to build relationships in new communities and with new partners/programs. 2. Academic Programs Assists in development of business case/programmatic development in partnership with Strategy, Hospital and/or Ascension Medical Group, Finance, and other stakeholders. Leads cross functional team(s) required to start or support expansion of the program including but not limited to, Executives, Strategy, Medxcel, Finance, Real Estate, The Resource Group, Ascension Technologies, Legal, Marketing/Communications, Ascension Medical Group, Hospital Operations, Physician Relations/Business Development, Contracting, Foundations, and external parties such as medical equipment planners, aligned physicians, Dell Medical School, architects and developers to ensure programmatic goals are achieved. Proactively identifies and responds to concerns that impact program development. 3. Lead and Develop Staff --- Effectively manages and guides direct reports to facilitate successful execution of initiatives, management of team members, and fosters professional growth. Provides analysis, recommendations, and consultation for all projects. Models teamwork and counsels staff to improve their effectiveness. --- Plans, organizes and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, training, coaching, and continuing education initiatives. --- Manages departmental budget4.-- Internal Management --- Establishes credibility and builds relationships and trust with business leaders/executives and a variety of other key contacts throughout the organization. --- Monitors and mentors cross functional areas to continually improve performance, communication, collaboration, program/project milestones/schedules and resource planning based on program/project schedule. --- Works with hospital and local Ascension Medical Group leadership to prioritize and align strategic initiatives with the organization's strategic focus and business growth objectives. --- As a member of the Business Strategy Committee, provides portfolio / project updates and rationalization guidance based on resource constraints (e.g., financial, time, staff, and skills), business goals and initiatives. --What You Will Need QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education: --- Requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree with a focus in business, marketing/communications or healthcare --- Masters in business, marketing/communications or healthcare administration strongly preferred Experience: --- A minimum of ten years of health care project management, business development, or health care administration experience --- A minimum of seven years of management experience --- Proven success managing a large portfolio ($75M+ annually) in a matrixed environment with cross functional teams in a fast-paced, transformative and dynamic environment --- Proven experience communicating with top executives and physicians --- Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, including economic and political influences and dynamics Job Prerequisites: Emotionally intelligent and adept at managing interpersonal relationships to build rapport inside and outside the immediate project teams to drive results Strong critical thinking and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to identify and work to resolve risks and issues Experience facilitating change, including collaboration with executive and senior-level stakeholders Effective communication and presentation skills with ability to adjust communication styles depending on type of target audience Equal Employment Opportunity Seton Healthcare Family is an equal employment opportunity / Affirmative Action employer and complies with all applicable federal, state and local equal employment regulations and laws.
