About Seton Medical Staff Office: * Seton is a "unified medical staff" with 3700 physicians and 600 advance practice professionals on staff. * We have one Governing Board and one set of Bylaws for all eleven of our hospital sites. * The Medical Staff Office provides support to Medical Staff Committees, Councils and Specialty Services at all eleven hospital sites. * The Medical Staff Office is responsible for assuring the medical staffs compliance with accrediting/regulatory bodies. * On average, we credentials 40 to 60 new appointments and roughly 150 reappointments, per month. * We do our primary source verifications and do not outsource anything to a Credentials Verification Organization. * We currently use ECHO credentialing software but will be moving to MD-Staff Credentialing Software in the near future. * We have responsibility for all OPPE/FPPE for the 11 hospitals within the Austin Ministry Market. * We have had 9 triennial TJC surveys this year to-date and have two additional TJC surveys due before the end of the year in addition to a Stroke Survey and a couple of Trauma Surveys. * We were recognized as a Leading Best Practice by The Joint Commission (TJC) during several surveys this year. * The Manager of Medical Staff Services has nine direct reports (Credentialers and Medical Staff Coordinators) but also has shared oversight of our Senior Project Coordinator and our Senior Systems Analyst. What You Will Do: As the Manager of Medical Staff Services, you will manage the daily operations of the medical staff services area. * Serves as a principal resource for ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, including accrediting and regulatory agencies, and for guiding decision-making/dispute resolution processes. * Participates as team member and leader in quality improvement activities related to medical staff and medical staff services, including process improvement, development of policies and procedures, and information exchange. * Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment and payroll. * Develops and manages the budget and medical staff account, preparing justification for resource allocation and suggestions for discretionary fund expenditures, including overtime, revenue and expense reports for medical staff, resource management, and dues and fees collections. * Serves as a principal resource for ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, including accrediting and regulatory agencies, and for guiding decision-making/dispute resolution processes. What You Will Need: Education: * High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required * Bachelors preferred * CPMSM preferred * CPCS preferred Work Experience: * 3 years of experience required. 5 years of experience preferred. 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred. * 5 years of management experience preferred. * 10 years of managing 10 or more people preferred Preferred Qualifications * Need to be certified as a CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) and CPCS (Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist) * 5 years of management experience in a hospital network system managing 10 or more FTE's * Strong skills in credentialing techniques, knowledge of credentialing standards and principles * Strong knowledge of regulations around the unified organized medical staff * Strong knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) Medical Staff and other accreditation/regulatory standards (for example, Stroke surveys, Trauma Surveys, Centers of Excellence, Critical Access Hospitals, etc.) * Strong analytical and organizational skills * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Ability to effectively interact and relate to personnel at all levels of the organization Equal Employment Opportunity Seton Healthcare Family is an equal employment opportunity / Affirmative Action employer and complies with all applicable federal, state and local equal employment regulations and laws.
