Job Description

Way back in 1949, some like-minded teachers came up with the idea to work together not just as colleagues but also as stewards of each other---s financial futures. Guided by the philosophy of mutual benefit, these teachers created a not-for-profit financial cooperative. As with a lot of things in life, looking out for each other made everyone stronger and more secure.

With this foundation, A+FCU grew to be one of the largest credit unions in Texas.

Over the years, many things have changed, but the bedrock principles remain. A+FCU takes the financial education of every member seriously. We strive to understand the needs of every member to give them the best financial guidance. And we know that banking on each other benefits everyone.

Here at A+, our culture holds true when it comes to "people helping people" throughout the organization.

As the Director of Lending Compliance, you are most certainly a key member of the Lending Leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Lending Officer. Your role includes implementing and monitoring the internal compliance audit monitoring program for departments to ensure regulatory reporting and documentation requirements are met.

Your role will also serve as the primary lead for all credit-related regulatory compliance areas including,

a. Policies and procedures

b. Risk assessments

c. Implement new laws and regulations

You will consult and coordinate with lending department AVP---s, managers, senior management, and internal audit department personnel regarding new and revised legislation, regulations, agency rulings and guidance memos, and revisions to policies, procedures and products.

Additionally, your role will have significant responsibilities in vendor management due diligence and overall project oversight for coordinating new vendor approvals. You will lead and monitor ongoing relationships with key vendors for compliance, including indirect lending relationships (auto dealerships, mortgage vendors, consumer aggregators/FinTech).

You have a strong ability to quickly absorb complex, nuanced, and detailed legislation and legal opinions and to summarize new regulatory requirements into actionable policies and procedures, training materials, and communications to front-line team members, executive management, and the board of directors.

Essential Functions:

    • In coordination with the CLO, serve as liaison to the corporate compliance officer for matters relating to lending.
    • Work closely with CLO on responding to internal audit, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and National Credit Union Association (NCUA) Examination requests/findings.
