Austin, TX We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and
energetic Sr. Software Engineering Manager to lead our Data
Ingestion team. Are you a hands-on tech leader with a passion for
big data and driving results? Then read on! You'll lead a dynamic
team of software engineers dedicated to enhancing the scalability
of our services and infrastructure for real-time data insights.
Initially, you'll tackle scaling ingestion tooling to meet
expanding data volumes. Your ongoing focus will empower your team
and stakeholders with self-service capabilities, enabling faster
iterations and decision-making processes. This role involves close
collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including data scientists,
product analysts, and software engineers from cross-functional
teams within the organization. As we continue to build a modern
real-time data platform, you'll drive decisions and lead an
empowered team. As a key leader in our Data Platform organization,
you'll foster a collaborative and innovative environment, focusing
on excellence in both people and products, aligned with our
company's values and objectives. You'll have the opportunity to

contribute to our engineering initiatives. What you'll do:
- Lead and Develop: Lead a team of software engineers, providing
clear direction, mentorship, and support to foster their
professional growth and development. Collaborate with
cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals and
objectives.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Champion best practices in software
engineering, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable
solutions. Evaluate and implement innovative technologies and
methodologies to enhance product performance and resilience.
- Foster Collaboration: Cultivate a culture of collaboration and
innovation within the engineering team and across the organization.
Partner with stakeholders to define work, expected outcomes,
priorities, and milestones.
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic insights and technical
expertise to drive product roadmap decisions. Collaborate with
senior leadership to align engineering initiatives with broader
company goals and objectives.
- Promote Accountability: Establish clear responsibilities and
processes for monitoring progress and measuring results. Celebrate
and promote wins, both at the team and individual level, and take
ownership of driving results.
- Evangelize Solutions: Present and evangelize solutions to
internal teams and stakeholders, articulating the vision in a way
that resonates with everyone and creating milestones to connect

- An experienced engineering servant-leader with a team-first
leadership style.
- Experience leading engineering teams that deliver highly
available, observable, resilient, scalable, and performant
systems.
- Mastery in working with streaming data solutions, large data
volumes and related infrastructure.
- Familiar with cloud-based architectures, development, revision
control, test, and deployment automation.
- Familiar with multiple data collecting, streaming, and
processing technologies.
- Expert knowledge of SQL, data structures, data integrity, and
schema design best practices.
- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, and one or more of
the following languages: Python, Kotlin, Go, Java or comparable
Object Oriented language.
- 10+ years experience or related work experience preferred and
3+ years leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related
