The Manager, Compensation leads & manages the operational needs,
analysis and administration of BigCommerce's global compensation
programs. This role will design, administer and deliver key
processes that facilitate compensation programs that attract,
motivate and reward our global team. This position provides client
support, develops cost modeling, leads cyclical, focal, bonus and
equity programs, provides analysis and reporting, completes job
evaluations and market pricing, develops and maintains policies and
documents and administers incentive programs. This position reports
to the Senior Director, Total Rewards & People Operations and is
hybrid if located near our offices in Austin, Texas or San
Francisco, California or is otherwise remote.
What You'll Do:
Lead, coach, and mentor a global team of compensation
professionals, fostering their growth and development, and ensuring
they provide high-quality support to the organization
Manage the successful delivery of the compensation team's annual
roadmap, calendar and project timelines for key cycles and special
projects
Manage all aspects of our employee compensation cycles, including
benchmarking, compensation modeling, analytics, system
administration in Workday, communications, and training
Provide consultation to the HRBP team and management on pay
decisions, policy interpretation, and job evaluations; contribute
to the development and maintenance of job levels, job families and
help ensure consistency across the business
Use market intelligence and data to ensure the market
competitiveness and fairness of our compensation programs,
including cash and equity; lead the participation of global salary
survey
Proactively monitor the effectiveness of compensation programs,
policies, guidelines and procedures; recommend plan revisions and
new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation
trends and company objectives
Develop and implement effective communication strategies to educate
employees about their compensation to ensure transparency and
understanding
Prepare and present summary reports of global job analysis and
compensation analysis information
Who You Are:
Five (5) or more years of compensation experience, preferably in a
publicly traded, global company; management experience
preferred
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or in process of
obtaining, preferred
Strong understanding of broad-based compensation programs
(base/bonus/equity), pay for performance, benchmarking/market data,
job evaluation, etc.
Strong knowledge of international compensation practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with
the ability to manage a team, motivate employees and collaborate
with different teams
Strong attention to detail, analytical, critical thinking and
advanced Excel skills with proven ability to build and maintain
complex models (such as compensation cost models)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven
ability to translate quantitative insights to non-quantitative
audiences.
Exceptional skills in planning, prioritization, managing multiple
projects, and fostering effective collaboration
Experience working with Advanced Compensation within Workday
strongly preferred

the salary range (or have the minimum apply to them), but rather,
the exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate's
location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications. Targeted
