Job Description:
The Director of Nursing helps fulfill the Clinic's mission by
providing nursing leadership and promoting and facilitating
excellent care for patients collaboratively and across
departments.
The starting salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000
annually.
Hire, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate Nursing Supervisors,
Health Education Programs Manager, Case Manager RN, and Nutrition
Services Program Manager to ensure practice is in keeping with
standards of care and clinic policies.
Delegate and perform tasks in a manner that balances workloads and
assures optimal floor coverage and program coverage at all
times.
Responsible for initial onboarding of new hire MAs, LVNs, and RNs
including but not limited to: medication safety, basic nursing
skills (vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, spirometry,
vision/hearing exams, etc.), EMR overview, immunizations, telephone
calls, medication refills
Retains oversight of the daily scheduling, triage, case management,
patient flow and chart audits in conjunction with department
supervisors
Build effective communication among other floor personnel, clinic
management and all departments by communicating information,
responding to requests, and participating in team problem
solving.
Ensure that chart audits are completed timely and all clinical
staff complete annual skills and competency training.
Backup floor personnel as needed for patient triage, health-related
education, case management, medication refills, records management
and follow up as necessary and per protocol.
Resolve escalated patient grievances/complaints.
Participate in special projects.
Identify opportunities to improve workflow, work processes and
patient care, and work cooperatively to implement these and other
quality improvements.
Adhere to HIPAA guidelines
Education:
Experience:
Three years related experience or training;
Clinic experience and supervisory experience strongly
preferred;
Familiarity with EMR helpful.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Understanding of the theory and practice of nursing and the managed
care model;
Ability to apply standards of professionalism in interactions with
patients, peers and supervisors.
Ability to identify problems and formulate effective solutions.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
Ability to establish and maintain cordial and effective work
relationships with diverse populations;
Ability to work with minimal direct supervision;
Ability to initiate and implement work plans to promote efficiency
and effectiveness of patient care;
Ability to prioritize tasks and accomplish goals in a high change
environment
Certificate/License: Current professional license to practice in
the state of Texas; CPR certification
