The Program Manager leads and executes complex strategic programs,
taking full responsibility for content, timeline and communication
for all projects within each program. Develops and updates
schedules, organizes and leads related meetings, coordinates with
functional departments, applies problem solving/critical thought
techniques to projects/programs, and communicates with senior
management on project status. In conjunction with the PMO
leadership, the Program Manager is accountable for strategic
project decisions within the platform/program. Directs teams,
serves as a communicator between the team and senior leadership,
and champions their programs to the wider organization. Partners
with function heads to create and monitor budgets for each
program/project and presents updates or changes to senior
management.
What you will do
- Serves as the platform/program lead along with the functional
leads assigned to Core Teams. Guides teams through the Innovation
processes and maintain a sense of urgency in accomplishing
deliverables.
- Identifies creative solutions for resolving issues and project
hurdles, planning and facilitating core team meetings, tracking
project progress through formal and informal channels, ensuring
cross-functional linkage and communication, and providing
organizational visibility and accountability for project status and
progress
- Schedules, facilitates and provides regular updates to the team
and stakeholders as needed. This includes the generation and
execution of presentations throughout the organization up to and
including executive management.
- Initiates Core Team membership changes as required. Negotiates
team staffing assignments with Functional Managers as required to
keep project on schedule.
- Proactively monitors and records project risks, communicating
potential problems to senior management and facilitates
implementation of mitigation as needed.
- Develops and adheres to departmental and project budgets;
assists with cost/benefit analysis
- Independent contributions as needed to ensure the success of
the project
- Manages one of more Project Manager
- Other duties as assigned Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree BS/BA in life sciences or related technology
studies required Experience Qualifications
- 7+ Years Project Management experience required
- 1+ Years Program Management experience preferred
- 1+ Years Previous experience in the field of medical devices,
pharmaceuticals, or life sciences preferred Training and Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in leading through credibility and
influence rather than direct authority (High proficiency)
- Certification in Project Management or demonstrated experience
working on complex projects (High proficiency)
- Excellent problem solving, judgment and decision making skills
(High proficiency)
- Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast
paced environment (High proficiency)
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication
skills; Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from senior management. (High proficiency)
- Executive presence, with effective delivery and presentation

- Ability to influence, gain alignment and control meetings (High
proficiency)
- Recognize potential risks and understand when to escalate
and/or when to take ownership of implementing actions to avoid risk
