teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're
looking to add a Sr. Director, Automation Engineering located in
Austin, TX or Buffalo Grove, IL.Reporting to the Executive
Leadership, the Sr. Director, Automation Engineering is responsible
for effectively managing all strategic automation processes and
resources, and leading a team of automation engineers, specifying,
designing, installing and maintaining automation equipment, tooling
and applications in order to execute strategic objectives and
maintain automation excellence. The ideal candidate will be a
strategic, data-driven, creative leader who is a highly
resourceful, self-driven individual with the ability to partner,
execute, and lead through influence in a highly regulated medical
manufacturing environment. This position will be supporting sites
in our health solutions group globally. What a typical day looks
like:
- Define, Implement, and evaluate projects that improve the
manufacturability by automation applications in: High speed and
fully automated Medical/Health solutions segment lines.
- Responsible for defining strategic roadmap for automation
solutioning across the Flex operational functions aimed at
standardizing solutions based on the near and long-term needs of
the business and optimizing costs
- Direct efforts to ensure all projects related to Health
Solutions are successfully implemented.
- Be able to create and define RFQ/SOW documents to quote and
define requirements with supplier's new integrations
- Engages with customer and suppliers to resolve challenging
issues related to purpose-built equipment for high-speed lines in
Medical/Health solutions segment.
- Get involved with local teams and operations to provide
technical support for the implementation or development of any
technology.
- Work with other central functions such as Advanced Mfg.
Engineering, Asset Management, Global Business Excellence, Supply
Chain and Central MRO team
- Willing to travel up to 50% and collaborate with sites on
automation requirements.
- Provide regular communications, including KPI results, project
progress, and relevant financial health indicators to executive
business leaders, functional leaders, project and operations
teams.The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- 10+ years of automation experience within a high-volume medical
manufacturing plant or supply chain.
- Advance knowledge in Robot/PLC programing for highly integrated
automation lines.
- Advance knowledge in Vision System equipment, such as: Cognex,
Keyence, Basler or others related.
- Experience integrating automation applications from design to
delivery stage.
- Experience with industrial protocols like OPC, Profibus,
Fieldbus, Device-net, IO-link, Modbus, TCP/IP or similar.
- Interpretation and establishment of KPI and Operational Metrics
for automation devices.
- Ability to network, collaborate and influence in a global
organization across staff functions and departments in medical
manufacturing sites.
- Proven success driving multi-million-dollar initiatives and
project teams
- Ability to identify creative ways to reduce cost by
streamlining processes and systems. -
- Excellent judgment, interpersonal skills, cultural awareness
and professional maturity with executive presentation experience,
comfortable interacting with senior executive leadership, lead,
