of the 89-room hotel takes inspiration from the local lake house
ethos of the 1970's, situated amongst rolling grounds and natural
beauty inspired by Texas. The Magdalena is home to a restaurant and
poolside bar, and several other spaces for hosting events and
hanging out. The hotel is located on Music Lane just off of South
Congress.Hotel Magdalena is proud to be a part of Bunkhouse, which
is a hospitality company created by hotelier Liz Lambert that
believes in inspired design, connection to place and the value of
community. Bunkhouse has designed and developed a celebrated
portfolio of hospitality projects including Hotel San Jos--, Hotel
Saint Cecilia, Austin Motel, and Jo's Coffee in Austin, Hotel
Havana and Ocho in San Antonio, El Cosmico in Marfa, Texas, The
Phoenix in San Francisco, California, and Hotel San Cristobal in
Baja, Mexico.We're looking for someone with: --- High School
diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred
--- Two (2) years related experience in hospitality or service
industry --- Ability to speak, read, write and understand the
primary language(s) of the workplaceBunkhouse is an equal

Responsibilities: --- Ensure all employees adhere to dress code
policies for their scheduled shift --- Maintain thorough
understanding of the Property Management System --- Promote and
encourage guest name recognition --- Maintain knowledge of all
property services and amenities --- Ensure all calls are answered
in a courteous, professional and efficient manner --- Ensure the
accuracy of hotel guest reservations and group reservations (i.e.
rates, dates of stay, room types, VIP amenities, billing
instructions, etc.) --- Effectively organize and book all group
reservations and manage subsequent group contracts and associated
billing --- Ensure guests receive indulgent service through
concierge services and flawless check-in and check-out procedures,
etc. --- Resolve customer complaints regarding Front Office
operations as well as assist all departments with customer
complaints regarding billing issues --- Ensure immediate response
is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform
supervisor of concerns and assist in implementing corrective action
--- Assist GM in developing departmental objectives, budgets, and
procedures --- Demonstrate a working understanding of labor cost
control through effective scheduling and proactive management,
including minimizing departmental overtime --- Ensure FD staff
receive regular performance evaluations --- Ensure staff has a
complete understanding of their job requirements and training
before holding them accountable for results --- Assist in
performing personnel actions such as hiring and firing staff and
consulting with other managers as necessary --- Maintain accuracy
with all accounting and billing and end of month procedures ---
Process all Travel Agent commissions --- Manage hotel donations ---
Act as the point of contact for guest complaints and concerns in
the absence of the and General ManagerBased upon fluctuating
demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it
may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not
specifically related to this position. This person may be expected
to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed.
