Job Description:

- Who You Are: The Accounting Director is responsible for managing
the collection and recording of all pertinent financial data and
transactions. This includes oversight of general ledgers, accounts
receivables, billings, audits and many different reports and the
annual budget. The Accounting Director is responsible for hiring,
training and management of all accounting associates.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Organizes the accounting department to
ensure proper accounting for all pertinent records in a GAAP
method. Schedules and maintains daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly,
quarterly, and annual routines as required. Coordinates year-end
activities, including audits, audit schedules, cost reports, and
tax information returns. Serves as a resource for other department
head, superiors, peers & associates. Oversight of all phases of
monthly independent living, assisted living and health center
billings. Oversees submittal of all Medicare A and B billing.
Hires, trains, and manages accounting associates. Monitors reports
regularly and follows up on all past due accounts. Oversees
reconciliation of all bank accounts, subsidiary journals, and
oversees all other balance sheets regularly. Monitors payroll
related deposits and directs preparation and filing of returns for
local, federal & FICA taxes. Prepares and updates fixed asset and
depreciation schedules and maintains other records. Ensures that
all miscellaneous monies are properly handled. Prepares special
reports upon request and regularly informs supervisor regarding the
status of accounts and financial activity. Preparation of the
annual budget and the monitoring of the same, as directed by the
Executive Director. Monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the
bondholders. Annual reporting compliance. Oversight of the Accounts
Payable (AP) process, as well as backup for AP processing, when
needed. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in accounting or related
field is preferred. Thorough knowledge of general accounting
functions. A minimum of 5 years in a managerial or director role.
Minimum of 5 years experience with G/L, A/P, A/R, budget, and
financial statement preparation. Previous experience with
non-profit organizations and/or long-term care setting is a plus.
