Director HR Information Systems
We're looking for a Director HR Information Systems with experience in Workday with a willingness to be a hands-on expert to join our team in Redwood City, CA or Austin, TX
You will report to the Senior Director, Information Technology.
As the Director HR Information Systems, you will manage the HRIS team as a subject matter expert, plan and implement a HRIS strategy using Workday as a primary application. You will gain and have a deep understanding of Informatica's priorities, strategy, and direction to drive further adoption and improve the use of the primary business application. You will expand the Workday capabilities and create a multi-year roadmap that builds a streamlined and scalable processes, provide meaningful insights for the HR business and to improve the employee experience.
You will be an expert for the HR systems globally and direct a team of HRIS professionals, guide the design and maintenance of Workday (Core HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, Compensation, Onboarding and Benefits). You will use expert-level experience and professional concepts along with goals to resolve complex issues in a creative ways.
The Director HR Information Systems has excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. You will build, collaborative relationships and champion Workday as a primary tool to support short- and long-range Human Resources goals and lead our HR technology journey. You will oversee the specification and implementation of new or redesigned systems, security design, functionalities, process improvements, data compliance, reporting, and procedures for internal use. You will manage, guide, motivate, and evaluate the personnel reporting to you to ensure the efficient operation of the HRIS function. You will support Workday and other systems across HR technology portfolio that enhance our employee experience.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

  • Direct a team of Workday Senior HRIS Specialists and HRIS Business Analysts to maintain our Workday Human Capital Management platform to facilitate development and improve HR programs, and other HR programs.
  • Lead a team of HR Information business analysts to take us on a transformational journey
  • Provide solutions to the Workday platform to facilitate development of impactful HR programs, supporting all HR functional disciplines, Compensation, Benefits, Onboarding, Time Tracking, Employee and Manager Self-Service and other HR programs
  • Manage workday vendor relationships, contract renewals, cost/budget management and overall strategic partnership
  • Lead the multi-year HRIS roadmap, prioritize the requirements, identify potential areas for automation, and manage the optimal delivery of the roadmap to meet the business objective
  • Oversee all HRIS related projects, and provide senior level implementation strategy, design, and deployments.
  • Review requirements & scope documents, identify risks, and provide production support expertise
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve cross functional goals, meeting business needs by designing integrated systems platforms and solutions
  • Deliver HR projects, on-budget, with high quality while managing multiple projects.
  • Manage HR Reporting team to deliver business metrics, dashboards and advanced analytics to evaluate people data in support of business goals
  • Provide management, leadership and coaching to the entire HR Systems Analysts team
  • Provide subject matter expertise on important business process decisions, security design, reporting strategy, future functional capability releases from Workday, and ensure industry-leading practices in the solutions offered
  • Develop short- and long-range operating goals, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans as required
  • Direct business leader support relationship at Sr. Director, VP and SVP level but may be aligned up to EVP level.
  • Key advisor to HR executives on internal HRIS programs, organizational initiatives and industry best practices.
  • Advise HR business team on industry standards for Workday modules
  • Understand Workday's Implementation Methodology and leverage it on the internal projects
    What We'd Like to See
    • BA/BS or equivalent educational background.
    • At least 15 years' experience in Workday HCM
    • Minimum of 2 Workday module implementations in a Lead or Management role
    • Experience with Workday functional capabilities, security model, and high-level integration touch points
    • Use leadership, collaboration and prioritization to direct the team and influence operations in the Workday functional area.
    • Expert level analytical skills and act as an expert throughout the company.
    • Can achieve strategic initiatives in the Workday functional area, and influence at higher tiers of the organization.
    • Frequent engagement with top level executives to provide HR functional advice that influences business unit strategy.
    • Use Workday HR functional strategy and direction from senior leadership, and achieve long-term goals to guide work and direct the work of others.
    • Act as a thought leader in this functional area and create an environment that promotes the development of talent, and planning for future talent needs.
      Role Essentials
      • Working knowledge of systems development lifecycles and projects
      • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
      • Exercise judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
      • Workday certifications in HCM, Security, Core and Advance Compensation, Benefits.
      • BA/BS or equivalent educational background, we will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
      • Minimum 15+ years of relevant professional experience
