implementation of the brand, marketing, and communication strategy
for University Housing and Dining (UHD) dining
operations.Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and
communication strategy for dining operations on campus that
supports the UHD strategic plan, mission, and vision.
- In collaboration with Dining leadership, lead strategy,
planning, and expansion of marketing mediums. Coordinate efforts
with UHD Marketing and Communications team to enable a cohesive
experience. Utilizing various avenues and resources, tell the story
of dining to internal and external audiences.
- Serve as contributing member of the dining team by
participating in meetings and collaborating with dining colleagues
on marketing initiatives and merchandising tactics. Develop
innovative marketing campaigns focused on driving sales.Partner
with Dining leadership to increase Optional Meal plan sales,
limited time offerings and other initiatives.
- Supervise members of the dining marketing and communication
team by planning, assigning, and evaluating their work. Promote
student employment within team and within dining operations.
Collaborate with student groups.
- Create and utilize reporting and analytics infrastructure to
improve marketing campaign performance. Analyze marketing programs
and adjust strategy and tactics to improve effectiveness.
Communicate regularly with Dining leadership.
- Build relationships with marketing peers across the university
in support of UT-level initiatives. Serve as a department
representative for university and student affairs communications
teams.
- Serve as point of contact for media inquiries/requests.
- Perform work on multiple projects concurrently, under pressure
of rigid deadlines and time limitations, at night, on weekends, and
on holidays. Perform other duties as assigned.Required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related
field
- Five years of marketing or communications experience
- At least three years of experience supervising a team
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team in a dynamic
environment
- Demonstrated skills in using data and analytics to drive
decision makingRelevant education and experience may be substituted
as appropriate.Preferred Qualifications
- Four or more years supervising a team
- Advanced degree in communications, marketing or related
field
- Six or more years of marketing and communications
experience
- Experience in institutions of higher education
- Knowledge of food service industry
- Experience with media relations
- Budget management experience in fiscally conservative, limited
resource situation
- Pro-active, self-starter.
- Excellent writing and editing skillsSalary Range$76,000 +
