Technical Marketing Manager - Competitive Intelligence to join our
Technical Marketing team in the United States, reporting to the
Senior Director of Technical Marketing.In this role, you will own
and drive all competitive work across the company for all product
lines, including thinking strategically about the industry and
competitive situations, gaining a deep understanding of Infoblox
products, and teasing out positioning that would differentiate
Infoblox from the competition. This role can be remotely based
anywhere in the US. You're the ideal candidate if you're a
tech-savvy strategic thinker who is driven to collaborate across
teams, operates independently, and is driven by meeting deadlines
and achieving results.What you'll do:
- You will lead a team that creates and collaborates on
competitive intelligence that enables Sales, Solution Architects,
Product Management and Engineering to differentiate Infoblox
products.
- Understand and gather meaningful information on the DDI (DNS,
DHCP, IPAM)/DNS security market and the competitive landscape,
conduct SWOT analysis, understand competitors' products/solutions,
and be the focal point for all competitive analysis
- Work closely with Product Management, Product Marketing,
Corporate Marketing, and the field to ensure competitive
differentiation for Infoblox product messaging, web content,
campaigns, and corporate marketing content
- Lead a team that creates internal and external compelling
messaging documents, such as web pages, presentations, and press
releases
- Respond to competitive product announcements by creating
technical and non-technical collateral to provide the field with
relevant information on how to effectively position Infoblox
technology
- Provide actionable sales tools, training and consultative
engagement to serve the needs of the field as it relates to
Infoblox's positioning and advantages over the competition. Develop
tools to support the selling process, including battlecards,
competitive positioning comparisons, white papers, and training and
align all competitive analysis information with enterprise product
launches
- Assist with field teams to establish competitive sales
plays
- Develop customer-facing collateral for customers, prospects,
and partners
- Be a thought leader about the market and competitive
environment, regularly contributing to the company's blog and other
social media outlets while interacting with industry analysts to
influence their coverage of Infoblox products/technologies
- Assess the competitive landscape to identify product gaps,
competitive threats, and strategic opportunities and provide
Product Management and Engineering with input into product and
roadmap planning and releasesWhat you'll bring:
- 1-2 years proven ability to analyze markets, products, and
competitors, and translate that information into full intelligence
and sales leads
- 4+ years of experience in competitive analysis, sales,
technical leadership, product management, or product marketing
- Proven ability to analyze markets, products, and
competitors-and translate that information into useful intelligence
and sales tools
- Technical skills in DDI and security are desirable
- Strategic analysis and competitive positioning skills
- Strong sales experience preferred
- Strong aptitude for analyzing competitor's products, strategy
and messaging
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including
competitive positioning, technical white-papers, and responses
- Bachelor of Science in computer scienceor a related technical
field or equivalent work experienceWhat success looks like:After
six months, you will---
- Achieve a solid understanding of the Infoblox competitive
landscape
- Develop a framework on how to conduct technical competitive
analysis
- Collaborate with multiple groups to develop the technical
frameworkAfter about a year, you will---
- Update all the required competitive technical content
- Execute on your vision to enhance and improve the existing CI
program
- Have a track record of helping the field win new deals
- Present the latest competitive updates to Infoblox's executive
