education, sustainable landscapes, land restoration and research.

members and reaches more than 2 million people through its website.

our land and our broader community.The Wildflower Center seeks a
Director of Marketing and Communications to provide strategic
direction and leadership that will increase attendance,
fundraising, community awareness, and participation in the Center's
events, exhibitions and educational programs. The director
champions the Wildflower Center brand and leads all efforts related
to advertising, media relations, digital and print publications,
social media, onsite marketing, and email. The director supervises
communications staff and collaborates daily with the executive team
to support the Center's strategic directions. We are seeking an
individual who is passionate about the natural world and is excited
to share the Wildflower Center's story.Desired start date as soon
as possible.PurposeTo lead marketing and communications efforts in
support of the revenue and outreach goals of the Lady Bird Johnson
Wildflower Center.Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the Center's marketing and communications
efforts including advertising and media outreach targeted at
increasing the number of guests and revenue from admissions,
exhibitions and events.
- Manage digital and print publications, including the website
and magazine.
- Work with the Center's executive team to develop strategic
programs in support of the Center's mission, revenue and DEIA
goals.
- Provide guidance, copy writing and creative leadership for
fundraising and membership campaigns in collaboration with
development department staff.
- Work with Executive Director to develop various communications,
including donor, advisor and crisis communications.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in marketing, communications, public relations
or a related field.
- Minimum five years of marketing and communications leadership
experience including campaign development and management, managing
complex projects, and collaborating with leaders to develop
strategy.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Commitment to the environment and equity.
- Demonstrated experience creating innovative campaigns using
various types of channels and media to achieve communications
goals.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as
appropriate.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a compassionate and skilled manager.
- Experience with brand management and strategic planning.
- Marketing experience with a not-for-profit and/or cultural
institution.
- Experience working with development staff to create compelling
fundraising campaigns.
- Capacity to prioritize opportunities for marketing and
communications.
- Talent and propensity for creative, innovative thinking.
- Experience working with a botanic garden or related
environmental organization.
- Basic knowledge of plants, gardening, and ecology.Salary
Range$85,000 + depending on qualificationsWorking Conditions
- May work around standard office conditions.
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
- Prolonged screen time.
- Use of manual dexterity.
- Ability to work outside in all sorts of weather as most events
take place in a garden setting.Work Shift
- M - F, 8am - 5pm
- Occasional weekends and evenings for mission-related
