Grow with us, H2O+U.Stantec is searching for superior candidates with over 20 years of experience in municipal water infrastructure projects, to act as a Senior Client Account Manager in Texas, reporting to our Houston, Texas office. This is a chance to join a dynamic team, supporting the marketing and business development of Stantec's Water team across Texas with a focus on our municipal water business. Day-to-day you will work with our Gulf Water leadership team to execute our Texas Growth Strategy with a Houston-area focus and interface with our clients for opportunity pre-positioning, lead campaigns and pursuit efforts, and lead project delivery teams to provide exceptional client service. In addition to your BD responsibilities, you will provide technical solutions to our clients and serve as a Senior Project Manager, as required, and advise, mentor and develop other Stantec engineers.Your Key ResponsibilitiesWIN: Lead Business Development ActivitiesParticipate in business center and regional strategic planning efforts and identifying, screening, and prioritizing business pursuit opportunities.Develop a robust opportunity pipeline for the Houston-area municipal water business, including client relationship development and execution of positioning activitiesAct as Account Manager for key clientsDevelop a working understanding and relationships with Stantec resources across Business Lines (e.g. Environmental Services, Community Development, etc) to support growthSupport and/or lead proposal preparation, interviews and contract negotiation, including development of technical approaches for SOQsDevelop positive relationships with clients, earn their confidence and become their trusted adviserParticipate in local and national professional associations including the Texas American Water Works Association and Water Environment Association of Texas. Actively participate by seeking leadership roles in the organization and presenting at conferences.DO: Project DeliveryServe as Senior Project Manager for water infrastructure projects with responsibility for reviewing and sealing of projectsProvide technical leadership for projects in Texas, performing a variety of tasks to plan, execute and deliver the completed projectSupport other project managers with technical evidenced proposals as project issues arise with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers/vendors or reviewing agencies.Effectively apply industry standards as well as client standards and requirements.BUILD: Supervise and Mentor Young ProfessionalsMentor developing professionals to guide their career development objectives.Review team's work and provide technical guidance on design approach and challenges.Perform on technically complex projects and act as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members.Recognize when technical problems develop and initiate guidance for corrective actionsProvide technical support to the Gulf Water Leadership Team to further the growth of Stantec's Texas area businessConduct work in a safe manner and promote health and safety within the office and outside of the office while visiting clients and job sites.QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsLeadership:Skilled leader and team player capable of building relationships both internally and externallySkilled communicator in both oral and written communicationsSkilled at building consensus and cooperation with staff at all skill levelsSkilled at inspiring, motivating and holding team accountable for delivery for innovative design solutions.Technical Expertise:

  • Experienced in the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, conveyance systems and water resources projects in Texas.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.Licensed Professional Engineer, preferably licensed in Texas.Minimum of 20 years of experience in water infrastructure design projects.Or the combination of education and experience to qualify for licensure within one year of hire.Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk.
