About the Company: -Our client is building a radically new data quality and data observability platform. The enterprise data stack is going through a massive data transformation as data creation continues to accelerate every year. This goes hand in hand with mission-critical dependence on data for product operation and business decision making. Ensuring high data quality for data driven products and businesses is a top priority for data teams. Yet data is often unreliable and unusable, because traditional tools and home grown strategies are coming up short. Our client is filling this vacuum with its path breaking automated streaming data quality platform - a power-pack of state-of-the-art anomaly detection techniques and a scalable data architecture.
About the Role:
As our client's content marketer and our client's first marketing hire, you will work with their founders on creating brand awareness and thought leadership. You will write and shepherd content, oversee creation of derivates, and drive distribution of those assets. You will engage with related content on social media and community forums. You will take ownership of our client's web presence and hone the messaging continuously. You will help create new content-led marketing initiatives such as a webinar series or a fireside chat series. You will interface with marketing consultants to amplify the reach of our client's content program. And you will measure and track the effectiveness of our client's marketing efforts to make us focus our client's precious time and energy on highest-value marketing activities.
About the Candidate:
You are a deeply technical person with command over writing. You are excited by technology and get a kick out of explaining why a piece of new technology is so cool to anyone who would listen. You have an enviable ability to grab the attention of an 8-year old just the same as that of a 28-year old, an engineer just the same as an executive, and an expert just the same as a lay-person. You keep up with technology developments and new ideas that the community is discussing. You have a pulse on the key active debates in your area of focus. And you can quickly pick up the language your audience speaks. You are opinionated. You are willing to take a stand. You are willing to challenge status quo. And you make it your purpose to evoke emotion with your ideas. You have the ability to take complex half-baked ideas, build upon them to find a story worth telling, and present it in a simple, relatable, structured manner. And finally, you have a process down for writing on a consistent cadence.

  • Longform written content creation (blogs, press releases, news articles, thought leadership bylines, case studies; direct contribution through ghost-writing, byline authoring, and coordinating with content consultants that we work with)
  • Social media content creation/distribution (pullouts, infographics, other forms of engagement content pieces, syndication, forum and community conversations participation, working with social media consultants, making us visible on LinkedIn, Twitter, Reddit)
  • Website copy-writing and graphic design stewardship (landing page(s), product page, other pages)
  • Ad creative production, setup, tracking, optimization (Google ads, LinkedIn ads, Twitter ads)
  • Coordinating and driving webinars with founders (product webinar calendar management, webinar advertising, lead tracking, webinar hosting with founders, fireside chat guestlist and calendar management, fireside chat hosting)


    • An engineering degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a discipline that dealt with software and data
    • Demonstrated writing experience in software and/or data fields with a portfolio of published articles to show
    • Familiarity with modern cloud-based data stack components like data warehouses, data lakes, data integration tools, data quality and observability tools, understanding of ETL and ELT patterns
