Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:Position Summary:The Vice President, Finance will report to the Sonic Healthcare USA (SHUSA) Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide leadership and coordination of company financial reporting, merger and acquisitions, tax compliance and planning and budget management functions.The VP, Finance will assist in directing the financial affairs of the organization and will oversee preparation of financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules. The role is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, accounting practices, maintenance of fiscal records, preparation of financial reports and the conduct of relationships with lending institutions and the financial community. The position involves direct supervision over a number of rolesThe VP, Finance will interact with divisional finance leadership on a continual basis, providing guidance and support in all financial management aspects of the affiliation to resolve accounting and financial management issues that may arise in a federated environment.The VP, Finance, in close collaboration with the CFO, will also be responsible for a full range of support activities related to potential affiliations through joint ventures, management contracts and other business development opportunities.Job Responsibilities:* Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.* Establishes major financial operating objectives and policies for the company and prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.* Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures and analyzes and reports variances.* Engage in resolution of accounting issues with division finance staff and bring attention to financial management issues as they arise.* Interact with SHUSA financial management and division staff in the facilitation of audit fieldwork and ensure timely completion of audit reports.* Facilitates the appropriate dissemination of useful information between business units and other appropriate departments, groups, or individuals* Assists with the development and implementation of appropriate KPI measurements and develop a recurring reporting process to communicate to key stakeholders.* Work with executive management team to develop and refine meaningful pro-forma analyses of potential affiliations. Will ensure accurate and meaningful assumptions used in projecting financial performance; will take responsibility for achievement of synergy components that support pro-forma results that are required to meet ROI.* Participate in the due diligence review of potential merger and acquisition opportunities or joint venture opportunities and negotiation discussions. Will interface directly with senior management or representatives of the acquisition partner.* Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.* Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.* Working with the risk management discipline, evaluates and recommends insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.* Has a key responsibility for providing effective financial controls for the organization.Job Qualifications:* BA/BS required with accounting emphasis, CPA Required* Minimum 9 years relevant experience required.* Public accounting background (Big 4 preferred) along with Commercial and/or Healthcare Industry experience is required.* Manager level or higher public accounting experience preferred.Skills:* High degree of intelligence and the ability to analyze and comprehend new situations quickly.* Excellent mathematical aptitude.* Excellent organizational skills.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Excellent computer skills, especially with Excel and database applications.* A high degree of creativity and ability to think strategically.* Position will participate in meetings with C-Suite personnel at Sonic and acquisition partners. The successful candidate will need to portray clarity and confidence in their oral and written communications.* Superior analytical skills extending to financial modeling, analysis and reporting. This includes an ability for logical application of industry knowledge in creating models reflecting rules of thumb when substantive data is unavailable, as well as understanding the relationships among functions.
