Tecovas is the first direct-to-consumer western brand, founded with the simple goal of making the world's best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike.Tecovas is looking for a Director of Ecommerce to own the business performance of Tecovas.com. You will be the chief owner of conversion rate and have an intense focus on CRO, identifying opportunities to improve the site, run AB tests, mapping out potential new features and conducting user research. As the Product leader for our website, your role will encompass all aspects of improvements and you will balance effort and impact to create a roadmap that will take Tecovas.com to the next level, partnering with our Director of Technology and Lead Developer to bring those ideas to life.This job is strongly preferred to be in Austin, TX but will consider remote applicants willing to travel as needed.In this role, you will:

  • Own our web KPIs including add to carts, conversion rate, AOV, bounce rate, and site speed
  • Leverage e-commerce principles, analytics, and general business expertise to identify opportunities to improve conversion, product page views, cross-sell, up-sell, and add to cart rates, driving incremental engagement, sales, productivity and profitability
  • Lead a team that runs the day to day operations of the web store in Shopify, including maintenance of our product catalog, marketing content, landing pages and site navigation
  • Work closely with our Creative team to improve product content, brand storytelling, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Partner with the Director of Performance Marketing to optimize landing pages and site content for both paid media campaigns and SEO.
  • Partner with the Director of CRM and Retention to build segmented or personalized experiences for different audiences, enhancing our lifecycle marketing on the website to work in tandem with email, SMS, and social campaigns.
  • Work with development team to troubleshoot any site issues, give guidance on requirements for new site features or projects, and lead quality assurance review and testing of features prior to release
  • Staying current on emerging ecommerce technologies with the goal of applying these technologies to current and future projectsExperience we're looking for:
    • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
    • 5+ years experience managing an ecommerce catalog and website on Shopify Plus or similar ecommerce platform; knowledge of Shopify liquid a plus
    • Proven leadership at driving business KPIs for a consumer website: Bounce rate, conversion, AOV, abandonment rates, etc
    • Experience creating a product-feature roadmap or leading a digital Product function
    • Familiarity with HTML and CSS
    • Thorough and efficient troubleshooting and QA skills
    • Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Optimize (or similar), and/or SQL a plus
    • CRO and/or UX/UI Design expertise
    • Bonus points for SEO and Google Search console experience
    • Bonus points for WCAG/ADA requirements and maintenanceWhat you bring to the table:
