the Senior Vice Provost for Global Engagement, the Director of
Global Alumni Relations will manage a full range of activities that
deepen UT Austin's engagement with alumni living abroad and
globally-oriented alumni in the United States (i.e., "global
alumni"), promote the activities of faculty and students to global
alumni, and develop and sustain global partnerships that advance
the academic mission of the university.----Job Details:General

world.ResponsibilitiesEngagement & Outreach
- In collaboration with university leadership and stakeholders,
develop a comprehensive engagement strategy to expand and deepen
relationships with global alumni, including, but not limited to,
increasing volunteer opportunities.
- Collaborate with relevant colleges, schools, and administrative
units to implement an effective outreach plan with global alumni
consistent with the Texas Global brand and aligned with
organizational goals.
- Increase opportunities for faculty and student engagement with
global alumni working in key international industries, government,
and non-profit organizations.Philanthropy
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Texas Global with
Texas Development and Texas Exes (the university's alumni
association) to identify, nurture, and engage global alumni in the
life of the university, including the identification and
stewardship of global alumni prospects and donors.
- Working closely with the Senior Vice Provost, develop a
philanthropic strategy for Texas Global, including identification
of major gift/endowment priorities and strategic endowment
management.
- Coordinate with Texas Global's Director of Communications to
ensure effective participation in development activities, including
the university-wide annual giving event "40 Hours for the Forty
Acres." Program Development
- Oversee, coordinate, and implement large-scale events in
collaboration with university stakeholders and international
partners, including research conferences, workshops, public
lectures, seminars, and cultural events.
- Support the coordination and planning of outbound delegations
ensuring global alumni are prioritized as a part of such
delegations.Global Gateway Offices
- Liaise with directors of the university's Global Gateway
Offices (GGOs), which currently include Mexico (with additional
GGOs in the planning phase), to support the implementation of a
positioning strategy in countries where UT Austin maintains
GGOs.
- Cultivate alumni relationships in countries where UT Austin
maintains GGOs and beyond and build a network of stakeholders in
mutual areas of interest to support the university's research,
teaching, and service missions.Supervision
- Supervise the Global Strategies Officers who are responsible
for mapping internationalization activities on campus and abroad,
collecting data that will inform and support strategic
decision-making, coordinating inbound and outbound
intra-institutional delegations, and providing day-to-day
programmatic support.
- Supervise the Scholarship Coordinator/Development Associate who
is responsible for administering student scholarship programs,
managing donor stewardship, and providing oversight of endowment
compliance.Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field with 10 years of
progressively responsible experience in alumni relations and/or
international education.
- Evidence of strong leadership and supervisory skills with the
ability to communicate clearly an institutional vision within the
broader framework of internationalization in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience building relationships across
geographic and cultural boundaries.
- Demonstrated experience working with national organizations
focused on alumni relations and/or international education, such as
the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and
NAFSA: Association of International Educators.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively
prioritize and produce deliverables upon request.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in managing professional staff
within a complex and decentralized university environment.
- Dedication to customer service and professional demeanor with
alumni, students, faculty, staff, and external partners.--
- Commitment to continuous improvement through assessment and
technology.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience living, studying, or working abroad.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as
appropriate.Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in a relevant field.
- Fluency in a foreign language.Salary Range $90,000 + depending
