Role This is an opportunity to lead the Product Management Strategy and Operations ("PM Strategy & Ops") team at Splunk, which is focused on driving results for the Products Organization (PM, Engineering, and Design functions) through strategic initiatives, operations management, and organizational alignment around critical needs of the product leadership team. You will report to the Chief Product Officer and be a key member of the Products Leadership Team. As the leader for PM Strategy & Ops, you will develop and execute strategies that drive growth and improvements in our products. Projects include driving strategy and execution of new product introduction and effectively communicating our priorities and strategic vision to the entire organization. You will focus on driving business cadence, measuring and tracking critical projects, and preparing content and presenting during Executive discussions. In this role, you will work on highly complex problems, gaining insight into the strategic and operational issues which are forefront in the minds of the Products Org. You will work with senior-level decision-makers across the company to collaborate on cross-functional initiatives. The candidate should have a strong product and market background and excel in all areas of strategy development and execution including project management, executive communication, consensus building, problem-solving, and people development. In addition, the ability to thrive in an unstructured, collaborative environment with a strong level of comfort around sophisticated problems and ambiguous situations. A mindset of ownership with strong execution prowess in a B2B enterprise software context is critical to success. Responsibilities

  • You will drive highly visible projects for Splunk; work cross-functionally to structure problems, analyze opportunities, and drive to solutions and actionable recommendations and results through a rigorous, data-driven process.
  • Shepard cross-functional initiatives to conclusion while also making critical judgments on behalf of the CPO
  • Serve as a mini-COO for the Product Management function at Splunk, ensuring we increase our execution prowess
  • Work directly with PM leadership to craft our product roadmaps into a cohesive strategic vision. Help communicate that vision to key partners across the company including Executives and our Board of Directors.
  • Manage a team of direct reports and matrixed indirect reports.
  • Help drive the operational cadence of the various PM teams and drive the definition, measurement, and tracking of the key initiatives.
  • Uncover areas within the business to drive performance improvements to unlock value and improve execution. Requirements
    • 12+ years of total experience in product management, management consulting, or strategy & operations at an enterprise software company.
    • 5+ years of experience in strategy & operations at a technology company.
    • Past success working on large initiatives from framing the problem, conducting analyses, building the business, and driving execution through to success.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills - written and verbal - to work with senior executives across various geographies and functions; comfort in business and technical discussions.
    • Demonstrated track record of successful people management experience.
    • Strong people development and influencing skills; able to build and drive extended and virtual teams.
    • Strong problem solving and financial skills to work on complex business issues.
    • Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative fast-growing environment.
    • Bachelor's degree relevant in a relevant field of study; MBA a plus but not required.
