SHIFT: Days (rotating weekends) SCHEDULE: Full-time St. David s Round Rock Medical Center is part of St. David s HealthCar one of the largest health systems in Texas, which was recognized with a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2014. With 171 beds, the hospital s comprehensive services include advanced cardiac care at the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David's Round Rock the first specialized cardiac facility in Williamson County with the only Hybrid Operating Room (OR) in the county; a well as emergency services in a 24-hour emergency department, including advanced trauma care with a Level II Trauma Center; St. David's Urgent Care Round Rock; and St. David's Emergency Center in Cedar Park. St. David s Rou Rock Medical Center is also known for providing advanced orthopedic and robotic services, among other complex specialties. In 2016, the hospital received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades and also earned a national distinction for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group. We would love to talk to you about this fantastic opportunity. This position has 24-hour accountability for the Case Management and Social Services Department. This role encompasses management of human, fiscal and other resources, development of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning and fostering of collaborative relationships. Essential_Job_Responsibilities In collaboration with the other members of the Round Rock Medical Center and St. David s Healthcare System, oversees the administrative function of the Case Management and Social Services department. * Develops and reviews annually departmental policies and * procedures in compliance with the guidelines/standards of all applicable associations and/or governing bodies. Ensures staff remains knowledgeable of all policies and procedures relevant to their duties and responsibilities * Develops and reviews annual department goals and objectives and plans for new projects with respect for cost, quality and service. * Actively encourages staff to participate in the development and planning of department goals and objectives * Ensures departmental quality/PI plans and activities are ongoing, reporting as needed. * Anticipates, identifies and works to remove barriers which block the delivery of commitments. In collaboration with Human Resources, hires and directs departmental staff in the performance of their duties. * Serves as a role model for all hospital employees. * Adheres to personnel policies in the recruiting, hiring, directing, counseling, and evaluating of staff. * Conducts regular management and staff meetings at a minimum of every 2 months. * Reviews and authorizes all disciplinary procedures in compliance with applicable hospital and departmental policies. * Completes performance appraisals by the due date * Ensures timely completion of competency testing and annual mandatory education of employees. * Must adhere to the company s affirmative action and equal employment opportunity policy in regards to all employment decisions. Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to the business and fiscal aspects of Round Rock Medical Center and the St. David s Healthcare Partnership. * Prepares the annual department budget with input from the Nurse Managers and Supervisors in accordance with hospital procedures. * Responsible for increasing patient volumes in area(s) of responsibility. * Demonstrates an understanding of how team performance contributes to the overall business success of the Partnership by generating/recommending cost effective initiatives. * Analyzes budget and productivity reports, explores variance from projected outcome and takes corrective action to remedy variances. * Identifies trends within the industry/community providing feedback with recommendations for remaining strategically placed within the market. Takes responsibility for improving work processes and eliminating unnecessary activites * Ensures Supervisors, Managers, and staff understand new processes by ensuring in-services and follow up education are available when indicated. * Oversees the monitoring of the effectiveness of existing processes toward improving quality outcomes. * Facilitates the development of the measurement of quality outcomes. Actively pursues learning and self development to meet career goals while supporting the St. David s HealthCare Mission, Vision, Values and Codes of Conduct. * Actively seeks input in order to identify value added skills to be developed to enhance performance and relationships. * Constructively shares knowledge, providing feedback to assist with peer or staff development. * Anticipates future requirements for maintaining expertise in area and actively seeks education to fulfill those requirements. * Seeks and takes on new assignments/skills/responsibilities viewing these as growth and development opportunities. Monitors regulatory compliance for functions and ensures improvement to maintain compliance. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE,_SKILLS_AND_ABILITIES Demonstrates an ability to communicate, orally and in writing, clearly, effectively and in an open, accepting manner to diverse populations. Possess excellent critical thinking skills leading to timely, sound decisions. Ability to set and achieve goals and objectives. Demonstrates an ability to adhere to the management behavioral standards of Round Rock Medical Center. Serves as a role model for the values of St. David s Healthcare Partnership. Must be ab to demonstrate understanding of national patient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures as required by both HCA and Round Rock Medical Center. Education_And_Experience Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of 2 years in a management position or progressive supervisory experience. Preferred: Master's in Nursing or related field. 3 to 5 years management experience in related area with multipledisciplines/ departments.
