Seguin, TX Employment Type: Full Time Job Summary A Prima Machine
Laser Programmer's job involves creating and optimizing CNC
programs for Prima laser cutters using CAD/CAM software (like NC
Express) to precisely cut metal parts from blueprints, maximizing
material use, troubleshooting issues, performing setup/maintenance,
ensuring safety, and collaborating with production to meet
schedules, often involving 3D programming, nesting, and ensuring
high-quality output in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities: Programming: Develop precise laser cutting
programs using CAD/CAM software (like Prima Power 3D CAM).
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings,
blueprints, and sketches to understand job requirements.
Optimization: Create efficient "nesting" layouts to maximize
material yield and reduce waste. Setup & Operation: Prepare, set
up, and operate the laser cutting machinery. Maintenance: Perform
routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and report equipment issues.
Quality Control: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to
ensure parts meet specifications. Collaboration: Work with
engineers, production managers, and teams to resolve problems and
improve processes. Quoting/Estimating Safety: Adhere to and ensure
safe work practices are followed. Essential Skills &
Qualifications: Experience with Prima Power machinery and NC
Express software. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g.,
SolidWorks, Mastercam). Strong ability to read and interpret
engineering prints and 3D models. Mechanical aptitude and
problem-solving skills. Familiarity with CNC principles and sheet
metal fabrication. Work Environment: Loud, manufacturing setting
with heat, dust, noise, and moving parts. Shift Monday-Friday
