Liquid Cooling Design EngineerMechanical Engineering leads and delivers the development of innovative and compliant mechanical design solutions, as well as cross-functional interfaces for AI, Cloud, High Performance Computing (HPC), Edge computing devices and enterprise networking, server and storage products. Our team conducts the analysis, feasibility studies and testing of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies and packaging for new and existing products - and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations.Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Liquid Cooling Design Engineer on our Mechanical Engineering Team in Austin, Texas or Hopkinton, Massachusetts.What you'll achieveAs a Liquid Cooling Design Engineer, you will be a vital member of our cross-functional engineering team and will be instrumental in delivering advanced liquid cooling solutions for AI, HPC, and enterprise server markets. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the thermal design of liquid cooling components, ensuring the creation of innovative and highly reliable solutions.You will:

• Design heat transfer surfaces and coolant flow paths for cold plates
• Design coolant distribution solutions within the loop for parallel flow solutions and support cooling network sizing
• Develop concepts for new innovative cold plate concepts and establish feasibility
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering for design tradeoffs in the cold plate design

  • 12+ years industry experience or equivalent skill; must include 8+ years in a thermal engineering role or equivalent skill
  • Experienced in cold plate design
  • Expertise in internal fluid dynamics and heat transfer
  • Experience with electronics coolingDesirable Requirements
    • Experience with liquid cooling and/or cooling distribution units
    • BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical engineeringCompensationDell is committed to Fair and Equitable compesation practices.
