Description:Client is an American end-to-end space transportation company committed to providing economical and convenient access to space for small payloads through the design, manufacture, and operations of reliable launch and spacecraft vehicles. Client launch vehicles utilize common technologies, manufacturing infrastructure, and launch capabilities, providing LEO launch solutions for up to ten metric tons of payload. Combined with their in-space vehicles, such as the Space Utility Vehicle (SUV) and Blue Ghost Lunar Lander, they provides the space industry with a single source for missions from LEO to the surface of the Moon or beyond.Responsibilities will also include new test stand build, launch pad and test site upgrades, stand verification and commissioning, test article install, troubleshooting, verification and testing activities associated with all components of the rocket. These tests can vary from valves to engines to entire rocket stages. This position includes some travel to the launch site to support integrated vehicle and launch pad operations. Position(s) will start off helping build large Control panels for first few weeks or months. Will eventually then help Install these panels into test equipment within the field--- Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade test stand equipment and instrumentation as required--- Participate in builds of new site/test stands or implementation of new systems or capabilities on current stands--- Fabrication would include Tube bending, bending conduit, & other duties to help build control panels--- Provide operability & constructability feedback to GSE engineers during project design phase--- Collaborate with test engineers to develop test procedures and document stand activity--- Build, develop and maintain appropriate tools, storage, and hardware to support test and test activitiesSkills:Engine, A&p, Aircraft maintenance, Engine maintenance, Aircraft engineTop Skills Details:EngineAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Required--- High school diploma or equivalency certificate--- 3+ years of experience working with and troubleshooting mechanical systems, high pressure fluid/pneumatic systems, or heavy equipment--- 3+ years of experience using power tools, hand tools, and calibrated tooling--- Ability to work effectively in a team environment--- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment--- Ability to lift 30 pounds--- Ability to stand for extended period of times and work in a test stand environmentDesired Experience:--- Associate degree in an engineering, technical, or mechanical field A&P license--- Experience in airframe structural repair--- Experience in aviation electronics and avionics--- Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) certification or training--- Experience with testing process and optimization of test processes--- Experience with hydraulic plumbing repair/fabrication--- Experience in ground support equipment in aerospace industry--- Experience in the space exploration industry, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environment--- Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office, JIRA, and photo generation/compilation--- Experience with crane and lift operations--- Knowledge of different fittings such as NPT, MS, and A/N and Swagelok--- Ability to read, and understand operating system schematics and drawings--- Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing)Experience Level:Intermediate Level About Aerotek: We know that a company's success starts with its employees.
