Job Description:
Traffic Engineering - Austin This position can also be based in
Dallas, Houston or San Antonio This position is for an individual
with -4 plus years -of experience in Traffic Engineering/ITS and
interested in working on transportation projects with State DOTs,
local governments, and the private sector. - The opportunity is to
work as part of a multi-disciplined team to develop innovative
solutions that improve lives and communities. As part of the
CP&Y/STV family, you will have the opportunity to work with our
other offices nationwide on a variety of projects including transit
planning and design, -smart mobility, and connected cities. This
position has the ability to grow into a managing position and
support with business development activities. Primary role and
responsibilities:
- Provide technical services on traffic engineering and roadway
design projects. Services may include traffic signal design, ITS
design, signal timing analyses, illumination/lighting, ADA/sidewalk
design, signing, and pavement marking and design.
- Support the project team with traffic engineering studies such
as traffic impact analyses, traffic signal timing plans,
microscopic and macroscopic simulation modeling, signal warrants,
speed studies, capacity analysis, traffic operations, safety
analysis, and parking studies.
- Develop final plans, specifications and estimate (PS&E)
documents for services listed above -for various state and local
agencies while working with a larger team.
- Prepare written reports and presentations of project
results.
- Assist with mentoring and training of less experienced
staff.
- Assist with task management duties and interact with clients as
needed.
- Ability to integrate into multiple project delivery teams with
concurrent and overlapping schedules, potentially in multiple
states.
- Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering
standards and practices. Qualifications: -
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program
or related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Master of Science Degree is preferred but not required.
- Registered Engineer -
- Texas Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain
through NCEES shortly after employment.
- 4 plus years of continuous experience in Traffic
Engineering.
- Experience in traffic engineering must include traffic signal
design and timing, operational analysis, and capacity
analysis.
- Experience with traffic software; HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, CORSIM,
and SIDRA and transportation planning software TransCAD and CUBE is
a plus.
- Experience with CAD applications such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and
MicroStation OpenRoads
- Experience with data analysis and visualizations tools such as
Power BI or Tableau is desirable.
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, etc.)
- TxDOT and other Texas City/County experience is preferred.

- Ability to work both independently and in a team
environment.
