The Role
Tesla is looking for a BIM Engineer to help build cell manufacturing lines across different sites.
The individual will possess a strong background in dealing with 3D model and the ability to convert manufacturing data within Revit. Should have experience in interfacing with the factory design team and should understand the fundamentals for building design and space constraints.
Responsibilities
--- This person will be directly responsible for coordination efforts and process enhancements for Cell projects within the Giga Texas project in Austin, Texas
--- The BIM Engineer is expected to provide both management and design skills in support of the creation of detailed and accurate BIM models
--- This role will support efforts from planning and conceptual effort of Factory layouts to 3D modeling of the equipment.
--- This position will set the course for the digital delivery, coordination and collaboration of Manufacturing tools withing the factory.
--- The ideal candidate will be responsible for proper setup, maintenance and review of design efforts within the facilities, as well as the integration data into larger federated building models
--- Projects are typically cloud-hosted and span across multiple internal and external design teams in different geographies and time zones
--- This position will offer the opportunity to coordinate various design authoring tools into Tesla's BIM workflows
--- This person is directly responsible for the creating executive presentations of 3D models for the cell factory, including renderings, quantity analysis, videos and animations.
--- Scope of responsibility will include overall accuracy & completeness of the models, physical & operational spatial coordination, and timely implementation and resolution of any issues according to an aggressive schedule
--- This position will be part of a team and expected to help develop, introduce, support, and oversee the implementation of industry leading BIM technologies, including those developed exclusively by/for the Tesla company
Requirements
--- BS or MS degree in Civil, Architectural, Structural, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and evidence of exceptional experience
--- Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience working on complex projects like data centers, chemical plants.
--- Should be proficient with 3D modeling platforms like Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Inventor (Solidworks, Tekla, Dynamo would be plus)
--- Should be efficient with concepts of scope ID's, Phases, worksets, Filters, Revit schedules, Revit families,
--- Use of automation through Dynamo or other Revit plugins.
--- Should have the experience of working with different file formats (X_b,.step, dwg, dwf,)
--- Proficient in rendering software/plugins like in Unity/ Enscape.
--- Proficient in laser scanning and AR VR technologies.
