Job Description
Evaluates reliability of materials, properties and techniques used
in production; plans, designs and develops electronic parts,
components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and
packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems.
Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating
electronic, electro-mechanical or mechanical components, assemblies
or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external
market. Includes new design, as well as modification activities
that results in significant product enhancement. Activities
encompass design, analysis, testing and process development using
engineering principles and methods. Technical disciplines may
include electrical and logical design of printed circuit boards or
integrated circuits; mechanical design of electronics enclosures or
integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware
design.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays
understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs
moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in
understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS
degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year
of engineering or related experience.

The Team:
The Corporate Architecture organization develops core technologies
used to build the autonomous, secure, and intelligent Oracle Cloud.
These technologies enable companies of all sizes to innovate
faster, improve customer engagement, and defend and protect every
aspect of the enterprise to redefine how businesses compete in a
digital world.
Corporate Architecture works with emerging technologies, including
artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented reality,
blockchain, IoT, chatbots, and human interface technology. We are

What You'll Do:
OHD Mechanical Engineers work on a small, experienced mechanical
engineering design team to develop high-end servers for Oracle's
cloud applications. The team is a part of a larger multi-functional
product development team responsible for the architecture,
analysis, detailed design, integration, test, and delivery of
leading-edge servers. The systems delivered are integrated as
building blocks for Oracle's market leading and growing Cloud
Systems & Appliances. In this role, new hires will gain experience
and expertise in product development and production life cycle! The
mechanical engineer will work with highly experienced and
hardworking engineers who continue to deliver unparalleled feature
rich, flexible, highly reliable and diagnosable servers for
Oracle's Cloud deployments. The work done in this role will
directly contribute to the design of components and assemblies from
their early feasibility stages through their volume production at a
world-class manufacturing site.
What You'll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications):
To be considered for the OHD Mechanical Engineer position, you must
possess the Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs) below. Please
ensure that your application clearly indicates that you meet these
OMQs , either on your resume and/or by uploading additional
documents such as a transcript.
Have a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mechanical
Engineering or an equivalent engineering field by August 2023 .
Have no more than 12 months of professional full-time work
experience in the technology field (excluding internships, research
and/or teaching assistant roles, and military experience).
Proficient (i.e., able to complete projects with no assistance)
with CAD design tools such as ProE, Solidworks, etc.
Experienced (through coursework, projects, internships, and/or
research) with at least one of the following:
CREO, Ansys and FlowTherm
Completed coursework, projects, internships, and or research in two
or more of the following areas:
Mechanical Simulation
Strength of Materials
Structural Analysis (Static & Dynamic)
Are experienced with engineering optimization techniques and/or
mechanical engineering validation tests process and sensitivity
analysis (e.g., design of experiment, etc.), as proven through
coursework, projects, internships, and/or research.
Have completed at least one internship, research assistantship,
teaching assistantship, or equivalent practical experience in a
relevant mechanical engineering area.
Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the
US.
Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2023.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific
to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $77,900 to $151,600 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $73,500 to $136,400 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $73,500 to $144,000 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $82,200 to $144,000 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to
account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market
conditions, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products,
industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the
preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
