Our Silicon Design & Verification business is all about building high-performance silicon chips-faster. We're the world's leading provider of solutions for designing and verifying advanced silicon chips. And we design the next-generation processes and models needed to manufacture those chips. We enable our customers to optimize chips for power, cost, and performance-eliminating months off their project schedules.
We're looking for a place and route applications engineer to join the team.In this role you will:

• Help to promote and support Synopsys place and route tools on advanced technology node leading edge customer projects.
• Develop chip design flows to support the sale and adoption of Synopsys' software, testing new product features and partnering with R&D on the development and promotion of new product enhancements.
• Provide opportunities for complex debug and resolution of advanced issues related to chip design across the areas of placement, optimization, clock tree synthesis, and routing.
• Build fundamental knowledge in the chip design space from RTL creation and simulation to final timing signoff and design tape out.
  Key Qualifications:
  • Users should have a background in electrical and/or computer system engineering as well as knowledge of chip design in the areas of design planning, placement, clock tree synthesis, and routing.
  • 10+ years of direct chip design experience at more recent advanced technology nodes such as 7nm or below.
  • Additional experience outside the Place and Route space such as RTL Synthesis, Formal Verification, RC Extraction, or Static Timing is welcome.
  • Soft skills in presentation, communication, and customer relationship are important for this role.
  • Strong scripting skills.
  • Strong desire to grow technical knowledge
  • Action oriented. Self-starter.
  • Should be able to multi-task efficiently while working remotely.
    Preferred Experience:
    • BSEE/MSEE or equivalent with 5+ years of chip design experience
    • Synopsys placement, clock tree, and route experience
    • Knowledge of EDA design timing and DRC closure through signoff for tapeout
    • Generate and present technical presentationsThe base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $117,000 to $204,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
