Job Description: Job Overview:
As a member of QCT's Modem System Test group, candidate will be
responsible for verifying physical layer and/or protocol
requirements for complex wireless digital modem products supporting
5G/4G/3G cellular technologies. The candidate will define, develop,
and execute advanced test methodologies for validating end-to-end
system level performance/functionality across the mobile protocol
stack (PHY, MAC/RLC/PDCP, RRC, NAS, Data, TCP-IP/UDP). He or she
will analyze 3GPP/Carrier device specifications, corelate with
modem system/software requirements and translate them into
effective test designs. Major components of this position would be
to carry out the interop testing of Qualcomm chipsets with network
nodes in the infra vendors lab in a cabled-up environment. This
position requires the candidate to relocate in Dallas, Texas area
as there will be a need to visit the infra vendor labs which are
located in the Dallas region.

identifies common errors related to systems testing.
Collaborates with individuals inside own team to complete the

Conducts log analyses to identify where an issue has occurred.
Gathers, integrates, and interprets information from a variety of
sources in order to troubleshoot issues.
Assists with verifying that proposed solutions to identified issues
accurately address and correct the problem.
Detects bugs in the "system under test" and resolves issues using
basic debugging approaches.
Adapts to minor changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure
and meet deadlines.
Manages individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
with close supervision.
Communicates feedback about identified feature issues to software
and systems teams.
Regularly discusses testing problems with manager and peers to
maintain open communication.
Conducts basic field or lab tests as directed by tech leads.
Makes simple decisions as it pertains to basic feature issues
associated with systems testing and follows up with tech lead if
requirements are unclear/ambiguous.
Communicates with tech leads on a project in order to verify the
accuracy as well as adequate running time.

Writes functional tests for features to ensure functionality.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer
Science, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Strong knowledge of LTE/OFDMA including MAC/RLC/Upper layers of
LTE is required.
-Knowledge of LTE PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, NAS protocol is
required.
-Knowledge of Data communication protocols like IP, UDP, TCP, FTP
and Data throughput testing tools like IPERF is required.
- Background or coursework in Wireless communication systems,
Digital communication systems, Signal Processing, RF propagation,
LTE, WCDMA, CDMA, OFDM, FDD, TDD are required.
-Knowledge of Qualcomm device and testing tools like QXDM and QCAT
is a plus.
- Exposure to 5G/4G/3G operator requirements and Infrastructure
vendor call flows is a plus.
- Mobile device test experience with 5G/4G/3G Operators or with
commercial OEM handset is a plus.
- Excellent Communication skills, effective team player, ability to
work independently.
Physical Requirements
Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up
to mile.
Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.
Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or
sitting).
Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6
hours a day.
Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of
information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person
and remotely.
Comments for Suppliers: Job will be approximately 50/50 onsite in
the lab and then WFH.
