DescriptionTHE DEPARTMENT OF AEROSPACE ENGINEERING AND
ENGINEERING MECHANICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN has a
tenure-track position beginning Fall 2023 in the area of
Computational Mechanics of Solids, Structures, and Materials. We
are interested in all areas of the mechanics of solids, structures
and materials, with particular emphasis on the application of novel
and advanced computational methods and techniques. Candidates with
expertise in computational methods for the mechanics of solids with
a strong connection to aerospace materials and structures are
strongly encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will have the
option of an affiliation with the Oden Institute for Computational
Engineering and Science. The position is expected to be filled at
the assistant professor level. Exceptional candidates at the
associate and full professor level may be considered. The

QualificationsCandidates must have a Ph.D. degree in engineering or
a related field. Successful candidates are expected to supervise
graduate students, teach mechanics and computational engineering
and science courses to our diverse undergraduate and graduate
student populations, develop a sponsored research program,
collaborate with others from a wide range of backgrounds, and be
involved in service to the university and the engineering
profession.
