Cirrus Hybrid Cloud division of the CIO organization. CIO Hybrid
Cloud Platforms provides the platforms and infrastructure that
powers IBM, allowing business and application teams to focus on
creating the digital business experiences that will drive IBM
forward.Our primary focus within CIO Hybrid Cloud Platforms is
driving our CIO Hybrid Cloud strategy forward. The CIO Hybrid
Cloud, built with Red Hat Openshift and IBM technologies, is the
engine for the IBM cognitive enterprise. It provides the speed,
scale, and security for IBM's digital business experiences,
connecting data, information, and people to bring IBM into the
future.We need leaders to join our team who will take an energetic,

hybrid cloud strategy, particularly around adoption. If you're

run a multi-tenant OpenShift hybrid cloud platform used by
thousands of developersImplement/customize and maintain monitoring
systems, logging solutions, alerting and recovery systems.Identify
and develop solutions to eliminate TOILIdentify modern and
effective ways to improve the platform and eliminate pain
pointsUtilize security solutions and common defensive techniques to
mitigate threats to our infrastructure, network, and
applicationsEnsure our platform is robust and resilient with the
proper architecture to ensure it can run business critical
workloads without downtimeLeverage the tenants of SRE,
Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps philosophies to enhance our
platform to scale for thousands of developers in a highly available
mannerWho you are:Successful and comfortable working with a
distributed teamExcited to build solutions for resilient and
scalable distributed systemsPossess effective collaboration skills,
able to pair with colleagues, brainstorm with your team, give and
accept feedbackEnjoy working with developers to deploy and scale
their workloads on a containerized platformAble to independently
identify critical areas of improvement and work across the team to
implement your solutions in a collaborative wayAble to drive
improvements across the platform relating to Observability and
Proactive MonitoringAbility to debug complex problems occurring
within a distributed system of applications, automation, and
systemsExperience with virtualized environments and related
technologiesExperienced with common SCM tools, preferably git and
GitHub or GitLab, and common collaborative workflow strategies
using gitExperience with containers and cloud native development
strategies using tools such as Docker, PodmanMost of our teams are
in Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Boston Metro, MA; New York, NY;
Raleigh, NC; Armonk, NY; and Southbury, CT. However, since the
nature of our work is hybrid, we welcome applications from other
locations. This could be a fully remote position. There will be
minimal travel involved.Required Technical and Professional
ExpertiseExperience designing, building, and supporting large-scale
production systems or servicesExperience implementing
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools such as Terraform, Chef,
Puppet, or AnsibleExperience with developed deployment automation
solutions for infrastructure or applications tools such as ArgoCD,
TravisCI, Tekton or JenkinsPrevious work with OpenShift /
Kubernetes administration such as building, patching, debugging,
and maintaining clustersExperience or familiarity managing network
devices and solutions such as Web Application Firewalls, Load
Balancers or DNS serversPreferred Technical and Professional
ExpertiseInstallation, configuration, and deployment of Kubernetes
or OpenShift clustersAble to describe and traverse Kubernetes or
OpenShift internals, deep familiarity with how a cluster works and
the underlying architecture and its componentsStrong understanding
of Linux systems administration and operating system internals
(Network management, standard processes, filesystems, namespaces,
services, KVM)Ability to write advanced scripts in Bash/Shell or
PythonBuilding and supporting centralized service offerings for
application developers in a cloud environmentWriting CI/CD
processes for Jenkins, TravisCI or other DevOps toolsWriting YAML
while optimizing using templating tools such as HelmThorough
understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP networking models and ability to
debug problems in a networking contextKnowledge of different
container runtime environments such as containerd or CRI-O and
leveraging them in a Kubernetes or OpenShift clusterContributions
to open-source projectsFamiliar with Kubernetes and OpenShift
design patterns and frameworks for enabling operator-based internal

full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your
job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and
frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment
