LOCATION: this role will be based in our Austin, Texas office.

What You'll Do for Us

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, by utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards
  • Brings new products into production, designing production lines for NPI and/or validating production lines
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements and workflow; designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Designs and implements tooling and fixtures to improve assembly efficiency and quality
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive set of work instructions supporting all manufacturing processes and assists in training employees on work instructions
  • Liaise with contract manufacturers, reviewing and evaluating processes and methods, supervising continuous improvement initiatives, coordinating with Quality and Supply Chain in tracking performance metrics
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; and estimating future requirements
  • Collaborates with Engineering on product improvements, providing direction to help maximize DFM
  • Works as a team member to execute quality improvement programs
  • Develops tests and works with testing methods to assist in product development and manufacturing process improvements
  • Facility and MRO oversight responsibilities

    What You'll Need
    • Bachelor's degree with 5 to 10 years of experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Must be experienced with complex electromechanical systems
    • Experience with continual improvement processes, kaizen, 5S and root cause analysis
    • Experience with vendor management in the production of PCB, PCBA, and electro-mechanical assemblies. Having a familiarity with plastic molding and metal forming processes a plus
    • Experience with setup or maintenance of 3rd party contract manufacturers
    • Experience with manufacturing line or cell build production, work instructions and build quality standards
    • Direct experience with supplier producing parts in a regulatory environment (i.e. GMPs, ISO13485, 21 CFR Part 20, EN46001, etc.) preferred
    • Strong working knowledge of DMAIC/Six Sigma problem solving process. Belt certified a big plus
    • Competent in Process Audit, CAPA, PPAP, equipment validation
    • Candidate must be a team player with energy and a strong work ethic
