Description: OT Field Engineer Job Summary We are seeking an
Operational Technology (OT) Field Engineer to support the
deployment and operation of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage
Systems (BESS). In this role you will work hands-on in the field to
commission, troubleshoot, site communications infrastructure
supporting large-scale energy storage assets operating safely,
reliably, and in compliance with grid requirements. As an OT Field
Engineer, you will support site-level technology associated with
SCADA, Controls, power conversion systems (PCS), and industrial
networks. You will collaborate closely with the organizations
operations and construction teams as well as utility partners
during commissioning and throughout the operational lifecycle of
BESS sites. This role involves travel to active project sites and
work in high-voltage utility environments, with a strong focus on
safety, system reliability, and cybersecurity best practices. This
is an opportunity to play a critical role in advancing grid-scale
energy storage and supporting the transition to a more resilient
and sustainable power system. Key Responsibilities Commission,
test, and support operational technology systems for utility-scale
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) sites Verify communications
between site equipment, plant controllers, and remote monitoring
platforms Support installation and operation of Cameras, site WiFi,
Carrier circuits, and other technology. Diagnose and resolve OT
hardware, software, and network issues in live field environments
Support OT cybersecurity practices and compliance requirements as
applicable Collaborate with the organizations internal construction
and operations teams during construction, commissioning, and
operations of the BESS sites Support of multiple datacenters
containing key infrastructure used for remote access, generation
management, and other utility specific applications. Maintain
accurate documentation including network diagrams, configurations,
and as-built changes to IFC designs. Follow company safety policies
and industry best practices when working in high-voltage and
utility environments Preferred Technical Skills Configuration and
troubleshooting of industrial Ethernet networks, switches, routers,
firewalls, and VLANs Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server
environments, including system configuration, user management, and
basic troubleshooting Experience with SCADA systems, HMIs, and
plant control platforms Understanding of OT network architecture
and secure system design Ability to read and interpret electrical
schematics, network diagrams, and control logic documentation
Familiarity with remote access tools, VPNs, and secure site-to-site
communications Basic knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles and
best practices Qualifications Associates or Bachelors degree in
Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or a
related technical field, or equivalent practical experience 5 years
of experience working with Operational Technology associated with
power, utilities, renewable energy, or heavy industrial
environments such as oil and gas production/service/support
Hands-on experience commissioning or supporting PLC and/or
SCADA-based systems Willingness and ability to travel to project
sites and work in outdoor, high-voltage utility environments Strong
troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills In
