Founding Physics Teacher to join the inaugural team at BASIS
Leander in Leander, Texas. This is a rare and exciting opportunity
to help shape the culture, community, and academic success of a new
school opening in Fall 2026. We are looking for an exceptional
educator who is passionate about their subject matter and committed
to inspiring students to achieve beyond expectations. About BASIS
Leander BASIS Leander will offer the renowned BASIS curriculum,
designed to provide a world-class, well-rounded education focused
on advanced academics, critical thinking, and intellectual
curiosity. Joining our founding team means collaborating with
highly motivated colleagues in an intellectually engaging
environment dedicated to excellence. Key Responsibilities The
Founding Physics Teacher will be responsible for delivering the
advanced and rigorous BASIS Physics curriculum to middle and/or
high school students. Specific duties include: Curriculum Delivery:
Teach Physics courses, which may include Foundations of Physics, AP
Physics, or other specialized science courses, utilizing an
engaging, content-rich, and effective instructional approach.
Student Engagement: Foster a classroom environment that encourages
intellectual curiosity, scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and
a deep appreciation for the natural sciences. Assessment and
Feedback: Develop and administer robust assessments to monitor
student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to
students and parents. Laboratory Instruction: Design and oversee
hands-on, inquiry-based laboratory experiments and activities that
reinforce theoretical concepts and teach proper lab safety and
techniques. Founding Team Collaboration: Play a pivotal role in
establishing the school's culture, contributing to school-wide
initiatives, and collaborating with fellow founding teachers to
create a cohesive and supportive academic community. Professional
Development: Actively participate in professional learning
opportunities and school-wide meetings, continually seeking to
improve instructional practices. Student Support: Serve as an
advisor or mentor, guiding students in their academic and personal
growth within the BASIS model. Qualifications A minimum of a
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a
major or significant coursework in Physics or a related scientific
field (e.g., Materials Science, Engineering). A Master's degree is
highly desirable. Prior teaching experience in Physics at the
middle and/or high school level is strongly preferred. Experience
teaching advanced placement (AP) or honors-level courses is a
significant asset. A profound passion for the subject matter and an
ability to convey complex concepts in a clear, compelling, and
engaging manner. Exceptional classroom management skills and an
ability to create an organized, highly focused, and positive
learning environment. Excellent communication, organizational, and
interpersonal skills. A collaborative spirit and a commitment to
working as part of a dynamic, founding team. Important Application
