Job Description:
DescriptionThe University of Texas at Austin is seeking
outstanding applicants for an Assistant Professor of Instruction or
Lecturer position in the Textiles and Apparel Program, School of
Human Ecology, College of Natural Sciences. The position would have
a variable appointment of 1 to 3 courses per semester or academic
year.
QualificationsQualified candidates will have an advanced degree
(MS, MA, MFA, Ph.D., etc.) in textiles and apparel or a related
field. We seek a candidate qualified to teach a range of courses in
apparel design, construction and technology, textiles, and/or
merchandising and consumer sciences. We seek instructors familiar
with multiple modalities, yet available to teach full-time and
in-person. Thus, the ideal candidate will have broad experience in
textiles and apparel and specialized knowledge/experience in one or
more core areas or disciplines of textiles and apparel. Past
experience in undergraduate teaching is highly desirable. The ideal
candidate will have: demonstrated undergraduate teaching experience
and the ability to work with a dynamic and creative team.
Additional preferred qualifications include expertise in:
curriculum development and use of innovative instructional
methods.
